When I was growing up, there was a rather prominent campaign with the tagline, "Cheese, Glorious Cheese!" sang in the form of a jingle, and a lot of times when I'm in the store, I still sing this to myself as a I approach the "Glorious Cheese Aisle!"

I haven't read all the replies, coming much later into this conversation. I recognized that song as a parody of "Food, Glorious Food" from the play "Oliver." Did anyone post this yet?

This is a really good point.

I've been surprised at how some ingredients I don't like or thought I would hate have blended well with certain things.

But sometimes this "Mom" trick backfires.

My Mom tried feeding my brother some kind of gravy with mushrooms, telling him it was just meat, but he still didn't like it.

And then there was the time she tried to fee us tongue, and also told us it was just meat.

But we saw the suspicious little bumps on it -- and that was enough for us to say "No Thanks!":LOL::p
The taste bud layer is supposed to be peeled off after cooking!

Yeah. That. You're not supposed to eat those bumps. Just the meat.
