Ok, not sure, so going on the assumption that what you were writing was, in part about me and talking about S.W. in the terms of "being addicted". I will say, in advance, if I misread any of that, please feel free to point out what I was in error about and , if so. I would be happy to apoligize for my error.
With that said, I never said I was addicted to Star Wars. Have I been Blessed to enjoy many aspects of it through the years, absolutely. Did you know that George Lucas actually studied many different religions before he made Star Wars? If you watch the movies, you can see some Christisn Principles in them actually. And this will lead me into another topic , which I will talk about in another posting which is that there are a few different theatrical tropes that actually do much good through these movies and characters in them. "Rebel Legions" and "Vader's Fist 501". They are fan made groups, among many worldwide, that have been made and used to raise money for charities and to bring joy and happiness to those that recognize the different costumes from the movies. That's what makes them great at bringing in money, as people come to see them due to their affection for the movies and the charities like "Make A Wish" foundation, among others end up beinifiting from them dressing up and bringing the others that joy.
Happiness, joy and good works. Now one could argue back and forth all day about everyone's hearts that joins these groups, their motives, if their Christian's or not. That is not what I am called to do.. judge others. If God calls me to see something about myself or others, then he does. If he doesn't, then I see what he shows me they are doing or maybe the whys. But even then, it is not for me to judge them.
God places joy into each one of our hearts for different things in this life. And, to help bring his Love and Joy to others, in His name. I praise God in front of anybody for the things he does Through Me, Christian or Not.
Anyway, if I was in error on how I read what you posted, again I apologize. If not, then I hope this gives you something's to ponder over and to bring before Our Loving Heavenly Father.

The second I want to explain, as it is on the polar opposite side of the spectrum... Sandtrooper. I don't know what it is about these guys, but even as a Wee Lad, I have really liked Stormtroopers and they are them, just better and cooler! Now, Stormtroopers, God Bless em, they can't hit the broadside of a barn, but anyway, there you go. The Sandtrooper however did prove in the first movie they can hit somethings and look a lot better doing it might I add.

I think when people say things like they are addicted to it, that it is just another way of saying they enjoy it. C.S. Lewis wrote several sci fi books, and as for fantasy, The Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe is considered a Christian classic. Tolkein was also a grand master of fantasy writing with a strong Christian message. Add in George MacDonald and you have the Inklings. All wrote fantasy and I do not question their faith. To question people's faith and insult them for enjoying this genre of writing surprises me. There is no need for that. Stories and parables have always been a way of teaching.
Funny. After I posted my reply and I was out and about taking care of things, the one that I wish I had mentioned that popped to mind is the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and the penner of said book (I believe he was divinely inspired). I'm glad to see it got mentioned in this conversation.
