Law keeping?

For those who follow the idea of law keeping, what parts of the law do you keep?

The law you want to see reflected in your life, is anything you in your mind believe would cause you to sin if you partook of it. And anything that gave you heartfelt conviction of sin is law that should be reflected in your life for the law God desires you to follow is in your heart.
You do not obey law within you by focusing on it and determining to obey it. You rely on the Holy Spirits sanctification to bring you to live an ever holier life. The more you do this the more the fruit of the Spirit appear in your life. That fruit will not bring you into conflict with any law placed within you, for that fruit is the embodiment of how God wants you to live. And against that fruit there is no law(Gal5:23)

I would say to anyone it's a dangerous decision to try to keep any part of the law.
I don't believe there are extra credits or kudos for anyone going down the law road.

Dangerous? How? If our justification lies elsewhere why would doing any of the law be dangerous? Ludicrous!

The law is suppose to be hidden in the heart and not a outward appearance of a inward belief. It cannot save you nor make you righteous.

We know this already, we never said it did.

How could something perfect be maintained perfectly by failable man? What purpose does it serve to place a burden where freedom should be?

We know we don't keep it perfectly. Why we don't even need to keep it, at all. When we did start to do things in the law, our understanding increased. You are right about you just don't understand. So why probe?

JWonder if it would be reaching to far to say that those who believe in Christ and find it mandatory to keep the law have a shallow belief in the works of Christ or .....are not aware that they present the death of Christ as vain.

Please no offence to anyone here intended....just expressing my thoughts......alot of blood has been spilled for this very issue.

The law does not impart the Spirit. They are spiritual, they are holy, but they do not impart the Spirit of God on or within those who 'obey' those laws. The Spirit is within them, both the law and the observer, and the law giver. But he law is not the Spirit, and the law is not able to impart the Spirit.

Yes, the Spirit that gave those laws is with us today, all followers. All followers of Messiah have the Spirit, who guides and protects, shields and saves. Till the day of our redemption.

And to that I say Bravo! I agree! It is good for many things, and the American justice system was based on the Law given Israel.

It is so true that the ten commandments do not give us the spirit of God in the law, but the spirit contains the ten commandments. You cannot keep the spirit of the law for example and harm your neighbor or tell lies.

If a Christian thinks like this and decides he doesn't like a neighbor it would be OK to get rid of him because it doesn't save the person to love the neighbor instead, and there is no use trying to love and be nice because you can't do it perfectly and it won't stop your feelings against him so it follows that Christians can do their neighbors in, it is OK with God??????????

Its a pretty simple question.

I would have answered it if I followed that idea. But the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has freed me from that.

the law teaches not to murder, not to worship other gods, honor our parents. maybe im weird but those seem like good things to me.

There is nothing wrong with obeying the law according to our new ly formed hearts, for the law is written there.

I guess that would depend on what context you keep it, or teach it....if it refers to salvation, or leads to condemnation in yourself, or others, if it is boasting that manifests itself as works.....I would say you may have to answer for it...Paul said it was good if used wisely..the Law is written on our hearts, so we follow it instinctively, and many times unsuccessfully, not through boasting, or works.....

You reside in the dispensation of Grace, it is a very specific time in scripture...it was meant to grow the body of Christ until Christ returns to take it.....obedience, which was driven by the Law, was shown through the keeping if the commandments....it is not as though it does not exist, but if not used in context, dampens the finished work of the cross....you are no longer a slave, your are no longer in bondage, you sir have been set free!!! The Love that grows from this could be considered obedience....but you will not be judged for sin, for you are no longer under its jurisdiction, you are no longer under its yolk....rejoice!!

If law pushers fail in one part of the 613, they fail the whole of the law, and stand condemned, so attempting to keep it in any part is foolish. Distinguishing between the law and the commandments may be a good idea, also

AMEN......none keep the law.........only one has, that being JESUS......and HIS righteousness is IMPUTED by faith without the deeds/works of the law.

There is NOT a just man upon the earth that does good and sins NOT <----written with saved MEN on the earth

There is NONE good but GOD <----Written with saved, immersed men on the earth

ALL who say they keep the law......have already lied!

Jesus teaches not to teach agains even the least of the laws. You know and so do I that most of the laws except for those making up love are no longer, so are you saying we should not do our best to keep the laws which come together to compose the laws of love...….or plainly, it is just fine to deliberately disobey them

I know Jesus was perfect for me, but I will not practice nor teach agains the laws which remain.

Anyone who needs to know abut how the law is to be considered under the mercy and grace of god simply needs to learn it directly from Jesus. You will also be fulfilling the prophecyi.

Jesus never sinned. Can you say the same of Paul and James? I hope not Paul said, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
