My honey brought a concern to my attention today. Seems like something strange was happening to these towels that are used as shower bathmats. She noticed these bleach-like splotches on several of these.

I put these through the wash every two weeks when I do my personal laundry. She has offered in the past to do my laundry as well as hers but being the 'helpful' husband that I am I told her that I really don't mind doing this as it lightens her load. Her laundry load that is.

She asked if I use any bleach when doing my laundry and I told her that we don't even have any bleach.

What happen was, after a shower, I would use the dirty bathmat towel to scrub the outside of the toilet down using Scrubbing Bubbles or somethin' like that. Again, trying to be 'helpful'. Apparently, this cleaner has bleach in it and that what was causing the splotches.

Told her I wouldn't be using towels any more to clean toilets and will use paper towels from now on.

Actually, the toilet conversation was one of our most interesting this week.

What a bunch of crap.

Yesterday, I cleaned all of the rugs and put them in the clothes dryer. During the dry cycle my new bottle of Shout clothes whitener vibrated off the top of the dryer and hit the floor. The cheap plastic lid cracked open. Lost about 2 oz. of product. Transferred the remaining contents to an empty juice container. Looks dorky, feel like throwing it away. Very disappointing. Rugs came out clean though, so the process was not a total wash.

I'd say it was a definite total wash. They came out clean.

I picked up a bottle of sunscreen last week and preparation for my vacation, and dropped it and busted the lid before I even got to the cash register.

Hopefully, you didn't pay for it. I shop at my local Walmart and things break all of the time. The store absorbs the cost and is considered a facet of shrinkage. Of course, any absorbed costs are eventually passed on to the consumer. Disappointing about the sunscreen though.

???

It's not THEIR fault I dropped it. I bought it, wrapped it in plastic bag so it won't leak all over my luggage, and took it with me.

It's only for a vacation so I won't need to store it long-term. And it WAS my fault I dropped it.

Hopefully, it is in a Ziploc bag, the ones with the slider and not the kind that have flaps where you are frustrated trying to get them to press together. Are we talkin' Coppertone here or Banana Boat? Wat's luggage? I have been known to pack my luggage in plastic garbage bags. Apparently, I travel light.

My luggage is a big blue plastic tote and a kitchen garbage can. The tote has everything from clothes to toothbrush to laptop to (clean, new) plunger. No I'm not kidding. The garbage can has cans of food, loaves of bread and general comestibles.

When I hit the hotel room I unpack the food, grab a garbage bag from the tote and I don't have to fill up those tiny hotel trash cans.

This is my standard gear for my second most favorite vacation, where I stay in a motel room for eight days and don't so much as open the door until it's time to leave.

You travel in style for sure. :)

Thank you my friend for being so kind today. On a side note, today was laundry day for me. Darlene always offers to do it for me but I try to be helpful around the house. Actually, doing laundry is a task that I enjoy.
