Meh I didn't use the red X intentionally. and only ever got so few that they were deemed inconsequential since my ratio of positive to negative was like 1000:1. What I miss though is the award emoji, I was starting to warm up to using that.
I never felt free to 'disagree' because I didn't like having to use the red x to do so. So, I just discreetly disagreed. :sneaky:

I have said here before that eventually human communication will be in the form of Egyptian hieroglyphics.
And now that i thought of that, i thought of this song too.

In all my time here (5 years?) I have never given a negative reaction. I received plenty but never given.
If I gave ever gave a negative reaction, I soon repented and didn't rest until I took them all back. Not that giving bad reactions have any equivalence of damnation, but I couldn't shake the consideration of God's example in not remembering my sins. And if I noticed that anyone's negative reaction bothered me at all, remembering the fickly love of man provides much comfort, whatever sense that makes. :geek:

The red x shouldn't be a negative reaction/feeling, though. It just means a person disagrees. We're allowed to disagree, aren't we? Maybe the disagree emoji should be changed to something else so people don't feel so upset?

We're allowed to disagree, yes.
Unfortunately, the red x has been greatly abused, leading to the negative feelings people have towards it.
It's also unfortunate that no matter what symbol is given to represent disagreement, it will always be abused and disliked.

That went over my head.😛✍️
"The x is actually white"
We call it 'the red x' when in reality the x was white inside a red circle, similar to :

Now - understand the psychology behind it. Red is the predominate color and stands out. The 'x' [only] demonstrates the core idea. But, the red indicates emotion in the giver and instigates emotion in the receiver. In effect, it is saying 'you are wrong' rather than 'I disagree'.

To me, the bookmarks are a bit of a loss because i had saved some of the greatest hits in there, but it's okay. I can still search and find them.

People have used it to show dislike for someone. That becomes obvious when an individual seeks out your posts and even x's something as innocent as a recipe for cereal with milk. I hope we get back some kind of reactions besides the like though.

Sorry forum upgrade in progress. This reactions system was customization of the forum software we use. The newer version of the forum software includes built in reactions. So we need to get rid of the old custom addon. What this means is old reactions are lost, but new reactions functionality will be available soon and should be more permanent.

So in short, you can start reacting again soon, Lord willing! :D
That's a good report. Thank you for the clarification.
