Jonah Died and went to Hell

Jonah’s prayer came from the whale after three days and three nights. Notice the “verbiage.”

Last verse in chapter 1
17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Chapter 2 continues...
1 Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly,
2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

I cried, past tense, by reason of my affliction. Jonah’s looking back at what he’s experienced. Hell.

God sent the fish to kill Jonah. The only thing that helped Jonah was to call out to God, for His Mercy from Sheol. Which he did, and God relented. That is clear from the passage. The Pit refers to Sheol (you asked above).

A comparison, yes, not identical.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Not hardly John.....and what you just posted proves my point....

HE prayed from the WHALE'S BELLY which he compares to the BELLY OF HELL <---the LATTER statement INDICATIVE of Christ....your lack of contextual honesty is appalling....we're done....JESUS will correct you when you stand before him

Wow! Everyone else is always wrong. Have you ever been wrong and admitted it? You won’t on this matter since you’ve taught this several times and that would be awkward. The number of times you’ve taught it does not matter. I’ve literally, lol, taught this little book dozens of times. It takes at least 12-15 sessions to teach it properly, comparing Scripture to Scripture.
