Read the whole chapter and discover that he healed the blind man on the Sabbath. Jewish Sabbath laws forbade people from healing on the Sabbath above the shoulders, I believe. He was also breaking the Pharisees' rules against working on the Sabbath. Jesus deliberately broke their petty legalistic rules to challenge their legalism and to pave the way for them to send him to the cross.
