Job 32
Verse 1) So these three men stopped answering Job,because he was righteous in his own eyes.
The 3 friends thought that, Job seems to righteous in his own eyes and Elihu couldn’t bear this thought and spoke up in Anger. (verse 18 For I am full of words, and the spirit within me compels me)
Elihu thought that it was the holy spirit speaking through him , however his speech did not reflect the fruit of the spirit and he was in verse 19 inside I am like bottled-up wine, like new wineskins ready to burst.
Job thought he was righteous in his own eyes. And since he thought he was righteous, he defended himself and justified himself rather than God (verse 2). We should always know that God is always just and his ways are perfect...even if we can't see it.
It was kind of interesting to me that Elihu appeared out of nowhere and must've been listening the whole time when Job and his friends were speaking. He wasn't mentioned being there in Chapter 1 or 2. It seemed wise of him to let the elders speak and wait to speak. Reminds me of James 1:19, "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry".
Also, in verse 15 and 16, Elihu wasn't speaking to them, but it says "I" in verse 16 (writer of Job referring to himself), then again in verse 17 it starts off by saying "I said" as Elihu again starts speaking to Job and his friends. So, this seems to mean that the author of the book of Job is Elihu.
