It doesn't matter to me. I'm just suggesting that it's best to stay away from artists' conceptions of what Jesus might look like.

I don't care if it rains or freezes,
Long as I have my plastic Jesus
Sitting on the dashboard of my car.

Comes in colors pink and pleasant,
Glows in the dark 'cause it's iridescent
Take it with you when you travel far.

Well for this Blond that will not work because I happen to love art and those pictures give me hope and joy in knowing that Jesus has promised to return and since He is invisible at the moment an artist rendering of the return gives me hope and I hope that it brings hope and joy to others too.

Yes it does. This thread creates unity, inspires hope, brings joy, that' what being edify is.

Thank you, JL, a basket of fruit.

Then we'll just have to disagree on this point.

A while back, a friend of mine and I (we're both Caucasians) were witnessing to some African-American men in a park and I was wearing a t-shirt with a depiction of a white Jesus on it. Although these men were listening to my gospel presentation without much or any objection, one of them finally said as he looked at my t-shirt, We don't want the white man's God and then he and his friends all walked away. I no longer possess that t-shirt. I threw it out. Also, just a couple of weeks ago, I saw an African-American man wearing a t-shirt which said Would you like proof that Jesus was black? in big bold letters across the front of it. On the back of his t-shirt was a reference from Revelation with Jesus having wooly hair and bronze feet. With race being as big an issue as it is in this world, I personally choose to stay away from artists' depictions unless they're merely silhouettes like the one in my avatar.

The fact is that the human Jesus was a Jew and most likely had olive colored skin not necessarily white or black but somewhere in the middle.....it is a beautiful skin color as any skin color on any human.... God created us all equal we humans try to put status and layers on if one color is better than another but in God's eyes we are all beautiful and equal......the pictures are still hopeful and joyful to look at.

So yes, on this point we agree to disagree....

They were black separatist. IOW religious racists. The shirt was only a catalyst. Only the HS can break racist bondage.
Black separatist is a home for many, many demons.
Maybe I would have done what you did,but for different reasons

Yay.....SoulWeaver snuck in and left a couple of likes.... How are you? I would have personal messaged but you have it turned off I guess. Any Who

Welcome to the Jesus is coming soon thread....

Try and serve up encouragement and the joy of the return of the Lord but seems some peeps would rather discuss he__ instead.....their loss....

Acts 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said. "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

She is truly a balm of Holy Spirit ointment to the body of Christ. Would love to meet her and tin tin one day.

I have known God for many years. And yet, I never actually invited him across the threshold until yesterday. He ran to me... I cried and I prayed I might be able to share an experience with someone else, to have them ask him to come in. As well as we know him, he waits AT the door, will not cross that threshold until you ask this most polite, gentleman, "Would you please come in?" As desperate as we are, he waits for us to want his presence in our lives. There is a song that says, "I thought by now you'd be here...I'm so thankful it's still raining". Many times it's for my sake, many other times it's for the new person I've just met and learned to love who needs Him. I cry for those who don't want to go to Him as well as those who don't fully invite Him in. Peace that passes all understanding... I cry. -student

I hope I am ready. I don't think I am. I need a heart like yours.

My heart is no better than your heart. We need to submit to Jesus and the Holy Spirit because it is never if you are good enough, but the fact that Jesus is good enough and He has paid the price for you and as long as you accept His sacrifice, repent and believe, trust and have faith in Jesus you are saved and the Father instead of looking at your sins sees the perfect life of Jesus because Jesus died in our place so we could live with Him forever..... Isn't that good news?!!!

Jesus Is Coming Again

Verse 1
Lift up the trumpet, and loud let it ring:
Jesus is coming again!
Cheer up, ye pilgrims, be joyful and sing:
Jesus is coming again!

Refrain
Coming again, coming again,
Jesus is coming again!

Verse 2

Echo it, hilltops; proclaim it, ye plains:
Jesus is coming again!
Coming in glory, the Lamb that was slain;
Jesus is coming again!

Verse 3

Heavings of earth, tell the vast, wondering throng:
Jesus is coming again!
Tempests and whirlwinds, the anthem prolong;
Jesus is coming again!

Verse 4

Nations are angry–by this we do know
Jesus is coming again!
Knowledge increases; men run to and fro;
Jesus is coming again!

John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

every time i hear the song "Even So Come," i get so excited. it's an encouragement!

Like a bride waiting for her groom
We'll be a Church ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing
Even so come
Lord Jesus, come

Come, now is the time to worship
Come, now is the time to give your heart
Come, just as you are to worship
Come, just as you are before your God
Come

One day every tongue will confess You are God
One day every knee will bow
Still the greatest treasure remains for those
Who gladly choose you now

Thanks for the kind words

I guess it is the human-ness along side the awesomeness of his presence that is so disarming. I suppose i am ready, just thankful for his love and acceptance of our imperfectness.

Mat 25;1
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

I lift up the trumpet from time to time. I'm not a professional, I play for Him. Sometimes for others. Lift up your eyes, open wide ye heavenly gates.
