This is where I'm found holding not much more than a sling shot but not without hope for finding a few stones. Meanwhile, I'm left at the mercy of the translators, which I can neither vouch for nor deny. However, seeing that 'virgin' generally references a maiden... I does make me wonder as to the most accurate translation.
Why do you think you're at the mercy of the translators? Do you think God had nothing to do with their translating his words? Do you think he would allow them to thoroughly corrupt his word such that none of us could benefit? I think there's some translation glitches or errors, but even those are at the will of God. Everything be done by his will.

I used to worry about translations too and then I just believe that God had everything to do with the taking down, recording and translating of his holy saving word for all people at all times.

And what about the claim that a 'babe that dies a hundred years old will be considered cursed' (if I remembered that right)? Goes along with my idea that only those not 'changed' in the resurrection/rapture that dies thereafter are only those that were not inscribed in the book or had received the mark (previously) rather than die.
Furthermore, those that do die thereafter, i.e., "the rest of the dead will not be raised again until the the thousand years are over. This is the first resurrection." (Rev 20:5)

It's not that I think the Word of God is corruptible, but that translators are vulnerable to personal bias, and not that corruption doesn't happen but that God wouldn't allow it in that God preserves His Word, I believe, and does so in accordance with such warnings that, "false prophets... would deceive even the elect, if it were possible." So then, if something does appear to strike me as a bit off, I don't hesitate to press into as far as I am enabled, but it's usually not church doctrine I check anything against, or rely very too steadfastly on as the final word.

You should gift them to whoever took it and wish them as much enjoyment it as you had playing them. The LORD will bless and keep you.

There is no promise in scripture that God inspired translations which is why false one's exists like those of Arians like the New World Translation of the JWs.

You just said it
"Jacobs" ....trouble.

The times of the gentiles completed.

Israels trouble begins.
You haven't been careful about misreading. Jesus said "And Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. "
The times of the Gentiles continue DURING Jacob's trouble.

where is this?

Or are you referring to the vultures eating carcases after the gt?

Believers do not eat dead bodies
This is from Revelation 19. (v9)

"so that you may eat the flesh of kings and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of everyone slave and free, small and great.” " (v18)

Look. The flesh of the kings is not literal flesh, of course.

Not literal flesh?

Revelation 19:21
21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

that parable and every other rapture verse is peacetime.
Indeed. And you're saying NOW is peaceful?

I imagine 1000 reign will be a lot more peaceful than now.

immense likelihood that Mat 25 depicts the NIGHT after tribulation.
By this, I only meant the resurrection. My bad. Before the groom's arrival.

Luke 21:v. 24 ... and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Two thousand years have already passed, and only now, and from now on, the prophecy above of the LORD Jesus Christ will be fulfilled LITERALLY.

Revelation 11:v.1-2:

1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

2 But the COURT which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. <---> Rev. 13:v.5

The fullness of Gentiles arrived and all prophecies about the END of the times will fulfil simultaneously or some sequentials as a strong storm. By the way, the pestilence is already running. Matt.24:v.7-8

Get ready

There will be two Beasts on the earth in very near future. Rev. 13:v.1-10 and Rev.13:v.11-18

You do realize with lot and noah BOTH STORIES have zero to do with a gathering AFTER JUDGEMENT???
I never associated Lot's and Noah's recalled stories with any kind of gathering, nor did I state anything about gathering after judgement. In fact, Jesus associated those stories WITH JUDGEMENT. And BOTH Lot and Noah went through those days of wickedness, whereas people keep trying to fit that into the pre-trib theory.
  1. People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
  2. But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
  3. It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

The way around it is that you don't seem to understand what Jesus actually did.

Jesus taught that in the world there will be tribulation. The crucifixion that Jesus endured satisfied God's wrath in a spiritual sense. Those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will be saved from the wrath to come - that is the wrath of hellfire and damnation, not the tribulation in the world.

This is evidenced by the fact that even born again Christians are currently facing hardships, persecution, and tribulation in the present and for the past almost 2,000 years.

This is also a well known false teaching which I have contended against many times. All you're doing is repeating what you have heard or read. The truth is that believers are not appointed to suffer any wrath from God, neither God's wrath that is quickly coming upon the earth nor the wrath of being thrown into the lake of fire, because Christ already satisfied God's wrath on behalf of every believer, not just some of it.

And as I have posted many times here, Jesus said that believers would have trials and tribulations as a result of our faith, which come at the hands of men and the powers of darkness. The tribulation period, i.e. God's coming wrath is not the same as those trials and tribulations, because they will be direct wrath from God in the form of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments. It is God's wrath that believers are not appointed to suffer. It is paramount to understand that there is a difference between the two. It is God's tribulation/wrath that we will not be exposed to. In the book of Revelation John spoke about being a companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus. This is an example of the trials and tribulations that Jesus said all believers would experience. What we won't experience is God's coming wrath upon this earth.

I would suggest that you go and look up all scriptures regarding "The Day of the Lord" and understand what that time period entails. This time period is what the majority of the book of Revelation is covering, i.e. the things/events which must take place in quickness.

You're wrongly conflating the great tribulation with the wrath of God. The persecution Christians have endured have been due to people in the world, just like Jesus taught. The great tribulation will be caused by protagonists such as Satan, beast, and false prophet. Not God.
As i said, the coming wrath of God is not the same as the trials and tribulations that Jesus said that we would have as a result of our faith. God's wrath is a completely different issue and we are appointed to suffer His coming wrath, nor His ultimate wrath at the great white throne judgment.

1). The Pre-Tribulation Gathering of the Church - 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. 17After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
Now about the times and seasons (of the above event), brothers, we do not need to write to you. 2For you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief. 5For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6So then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain awake and sober.

=============================================================================================

In verse 3, Paul says that "while people (unbelievers) are saying "Peace and security" destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."

Then in verse 4, he says "But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day (the Day of the Lord) should overtake you like a thief.

"But you, brothers" immediately infers the opposite of not escaping, i.e. where unbelievers will not escape that sudden destruction of God's wrath, believers in Christ will via the event described in 1 Thess.4:15-17, which Paul previously wrote about.

Q: And how will they escape?

A: By what Paul had previously written in 1 Thess.4:15-17 where the dead are resurrected and the living in Christ are changed and caught up.

Q: Why will believers escape?

A: Because we do not belong to the darkness or to the night (v.4 & 5)

Q: What does the darkness and night refer to?

A: It represents that time of sudden destruction that will come upon the whole earth, the time of God's wrath, the Day of the Lord.

Q: What is the Day of the Lord?

A:

“I will completely sweep away everything from the face of the earth, declares the LORD.

I will sweep away man and beast; I will sweep away the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and the idols with their wicked worshipers.

I will cut off mankind from the face of the earth,” - Zephaniah 1:2-3 (see the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments)

Zephaniah 1:14-18
The great Day of the LORD is near—near and coming quickly.

Listen, the Day of the LORD! Then the cry of the mighty will be bitter.

That day (the Day of the Lord) will be a day of wrath,

a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation,

a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,

a day of horn blast and battle cry against the fortified cities,

and against the high corner towers.

I will bring such distress on mankind that they will walk like the blind,

because they have sinned against the LORD.

Their blood will be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the Day of the LORD’s wrath.

The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy.

For indeed, He will make a sudden end of all who dwell on the earth. (hasn't happened yet, but it's coming)

Isaiah 13:6-13
Wail, for the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

Because of this, all hands will go limp, every heart will melt with fear.

Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor.

They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.

See, the day of the Lord is coming—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.

The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. (see Matt.24:29)

I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. (God will punish the wicked, not the righteous)

I will make people scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir.

Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the Lord Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.

Amos 5:18-20
Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord!

Why do you long for the day of the Lord?

That day will be darkness, not light.

It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. (distress at every turn)

Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light—pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness? (See 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5)

================================================================================

I think that you get the picture that the Day of the Lord is the time of God's coming wrath upon this earth.

Since we (believers) do not belong to the darkness or to the night which represents the Day of the Lord, the time of God's wrath, the church cannot be on the earth because we belong to the day and the light. And the way in which we will escape is through Paul's description of the gathering of the church in 1 Thessalonian 4:15-17.

Therefore, I am comforting all who read these words as Paul urged us to.

Those who believe and teach that God is going to put the living church through His wrath first and then gather us, are not comforting you with those words.

I kind of agree mostly, except the pestilence part. If you're identifying it with the Covid, then I do not think that's very correct bcs it seems that's the part that goes with Great Tribulation and Jacob's Trouble as He said, "all these will be the beginning of the Birth Pang."

This is where I have to disagree with you. When the saints arose from their opened graves with a resurrection, they were seen in the holy city by many which is New Jerusalem, not Jerusalem here on earth.
That doesn't mean that they rose in the immortal and glorified bodies. Scripture states that Jesus is the first fruits of those who rise from the dead and the church is next. Those people who rose from the tombs did so in the mortal bodies and died again, just as Lazarus also died again after he was resurrected.

God called Jerusalem Egypt and Sodom where also the Lord was crucified there. (Revelation 11:8)
Jesus also wept over Jerusalem saying their house was left to them desolate. That is hardly the description of the holy city where resurrected saints would be seen.
This above has to do with the resurrection of the two witnesses which is a future event that takes place in the middle of the seven years and has nothing to do with those who rose from their graves after Christ resurrected.

There is mention of a "second death" and it's not attributed to saints. I don't know any bible doctrine that teaches any saint will die a second time.
The the second death is another name for the lake of fire, the final place of punishment for the unsaved dead.

There were multiple people in scripture who were resurrected in their mortal bodies and died again:

* Lazarus (brother of Mary and Martha)
* Eutychus (fell out of the third story window listening to Paul)
* Jairus 12 year old daughter
* Tabitha (translated as Dorcas)

The people above were all resurrected back into their mortal bodies and all died again. They will be resurrected immortal and glorified at the appointed time in the future.

I understand, but the Great Tribulation will be in near future immediately after the END of the FIRST half of the last week or 1.260 days-Rev.13:v.5. We will enter in the period of the last week-Daniel 9:v.27 when the MAN Beast of the earth like a lamb with two horns (a false lamb, of course) manifest himself speaking as Dragon.

First will fulfil the events of the first HALF of the last week of Daniel 9:v.27. The pestilence makes part as a signal of the beginning of the sorrows, we must see besides the current pestilence also the range of consequences it is causing in the world as a whole, it is social, and economic, mental health, and so on, but the worst is in the way and it comes soon.

I used to worry about translations too and then I just believe that God had everything to do with the taking down, recording and translating of his holy saving word for all people at all times.
It's also God's glory to conceal a thing, and for kings to search out the secrets hidden in wisdom (as Solomon wrote). There are minor errors and differences and whatnot between LXX and Tanach, but nothing too badly different. Also between Greek Matthew and Hebrew Matthew. For general understanding, I think current translations are sufficient, but there are things otherwise unobtainable from context. You shouldn't miss the fact that there are now translators of many genuine and ingenuine translations, and God certainly would not let the genuine ones go extinct (as with KJV once filled with Freemasonic signs.) It's for you to discern which ones are genuine. And by the way, NIV is said to be satan's Bible.
