Probably not found anywhere, nor will you find the change in priesthood, but you will find the tearing of the vesture.Where is that found in the bible?
Bingo! On a side note - He also brought to an end the animal sacrifices required for sin - all symbolic of and satisfied by His blood.
The gentile church needs the enlightenment of the Jewish OT,and MESSIANIC jew to unravel the mysteries of the NT.
All my 30+ years of walking with the Lord,I have never heard anyone get the "it is finished"thinggy right.
A messianic Jew unlocked this for me..
We all are just guesing w/o revelation
Sorry popeye but I get my doctrine from the bible. I don't need a Jew to unlock the New Testament for me.The gentile church needs the enlightenment of the Jewish OT,and MESSIANIC jew to unravel the mysteries of the NT.

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." -John 19:30
My hubby and I were discussing this Scripture last night, and we are in agreement (although we come to it in different ways) that the "it" is the debt that Jesus paid for us all -- the fulfillment of the Law.
So what say you? How would you describe the "it?"
I believe that says the work was finished before he went to the cross doesn't it?John 17:1-417 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

That is wonderful and I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about that.
But as for me, a Jewish carpenter unlocked "it is finished" for me and the enlightenment of His Holy Spirit dwelling in me was sufficient to unravel the mysteries of God the Father loving me so much, He would give His only begotten Son, and that if I believed, I would never be forsaken or face death, but have His everlasting life. And because He lives, I reign with Him forever and ever. Hallelujah!
But feel free to share your "revelation" on Christ Jesus' words. As long as it is not of some "private interpretation" and it is a true witness of Jesus Christ crucified for the sins of the whole world, I am interested in it.

........as were the disciples and paul wrote half of he NT....also a Jew.You're unaware that a Jew is what gave you the New testament?
Nope, a Jew did not give me the New Testament, The Jew gave me the New Testament.... and that's the only Jew I need to understand scripture. I don't need Jewish fables to understand the bible. You're unaware that a Jew is what gave you the New testament?
Then you, being such a expert and puritn, must hve seen how God used a donkey to speak his word.Nope, a Jew did not give me the New Testament, The Jew gave me the New Testament.... and that's the only Jew I need to understand scripture. I don't need Jewish fables to understand the bible.
He had completed everything that was prophesied in the past about Him, and plus He was the first to be born from the laws that had became perfect ( acknowledge whom God is, and merciful), if there wasn't none to be found, then mankind will be consider as being worthless and will be tossed out with rest of the trash where's there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.
Matthew 5:18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Exactly.I believe the "It is finished" question has been answered well enough by others, so I have nothing to add to that. I will simply state that I do not believe that the Messiah's "It is finished" on the cross is connected in any way to Matt. 5:18. I believe Matt. 5:18 is connected to the "It is finished" of Rev. 21:6. This is when the old heaven and earth pass away and are replaced by the new, and everything is accomplished.
