Who is the election in this verse then? Other than the people of Israel? Who else could it be referring to when it says for the fathers' sake? I take the fathers to be a reference to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

The election in that verse are the believing remnant of the natural children of Israel. The nation of Israel is not the elect; only the believing remnant are

The Kingdom of God is found in Christ Jesus but what is not found is a jew, a gentile, male, female, but all are one.
So what is this kingdom of God you might ask. Well its just that. A brand new Kingdom no jew no gentile everyone of equal stature.

Yes a new creation called the Israel (kingdom) of God. The earthly kingdom of Israel was not the kingdom of God, it was of Israel (the man), not of God (Christ)

Jerusalem was declared the capital by king David as a neutral point where all people's could gather....
In Revelation where do the nations gather to honor the king?
Jerusalem. The king that rules with a iron rod teaching those nations and people's how to love God and there neighbors to live in peace.

After he returns, but not in this age.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. John 4:21
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:23

It is sad when people only have eyes for one way. Only able to see things the way they have already concluded it to be.

Agree, and tragically, this horrible "conclusion" of a God who failed and is now executing plan B, has had and will continue to have,

very dire consequences for many people.

This is a very diabolical "conclusion" with horrible past, present and future consequences.

As to the 'forever'

I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.

He remembers his covenant forever,
the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
9 the covenant he made with Abraham,
the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
11 “To you I will give the land of Canaan
as the portion you will inherit.”

Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac.
He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant

“My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them. They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever.

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when they will no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”

But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,
And your God for your glory.
“Your sun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning will be over.

“Then all your people will be righteous;
They will possess the land forever,
The branch of My planting,
The work of My hands,
That I may be glorified.

For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land; and I will build them up and not overthrow them, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.

Behold, I will gather them out of all the lands to which I have driven them in My anger, in My wrath and in great indignation; and I will bring them back to this place and make them dwell in safety. They shall be My people, and I will be their God

When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and will manifest My holiness in them in the sight of the nations, then they will live in their land which I gave to My servant Jacob. They will live in it securely; and they will build houses, plant vineyards and live securely when I execute judgments upon all who scorn them round about them. Then they will know that I am the Lord their God.

“Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel,
And they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them;
They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine,
And make gardens and eat their fruit.
“I will also plant them on their land,
And they will not again be rooted out from their land
Which I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God.

“In that day,” declares the Lord,
“I will assemble the lame
And gather the outcasts,
Even those whom I have afflicted.
“I will make the lame a remnant
And the outcasts a strong nation,
And the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion
From now on and forever.

Youve ignored the points raised in my post - listing passages translated as forever / everlasting - doesn’t answer the Q raised - why don’t you respond to the points?

They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever.

Fulfillment began at Pentecost and will reach its complete fullfillment at the resurrection when God raises obedient Israel from the dead

Unbelieving physical Israel has nothing to do with spiritual Israel.

Oh my friend yes it does. God promised that people a land to live in flowing with milk and honey. A land where they could live peacefully with themselves and others. Where he will be their God and they his people.
God said this will be done not out of merit of any kind of israel but for God namesake.
Much like the conversation Moses had with God when God said he would destroy the people's.
To say that todays Israel is not israel is enmity with God, to say he has failed to keep his promise to his chosen.
The thousand year reign is the fulfillment of the promise where Satan is bound is the example of what caused the enmity and men's hearts now can be reached without distraction. All of what God has spoken shall come to pass. The fulfillment of the old to enter in to the new Jerusalem which comes after the reign of Christ.
Surely your not blind to see the scriptures I posted concerning this promise. Mountains, valleys, deserts ect are not found in heaven my friend. Pointing to a earthly kingdom first and the promise of restoration of the earth which must pass.
The atonement of Jesus Christ included all of this. To once and for all put a end to all enmity between the seed of the women and the seed of Satan. God said he makes beauty from ashes, he restores the years the locust eats.
This is how far sin has effected the world. This is how much it has permeated the earth and man.
Regardless of your own understanding regarding this Israel there is no scripture that points to a counterfeit.

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Read the verses. If they temporary to you, you don't know what you're talking about. Debunk them.

Already have - thats why you don’t respond to the points - whenever you ready for a serious debate let me know - until then I won’t waste my time any further as you clearly don’t seem to be bothered with the truth
