Technically, everyone knows the PM of Israel doesn't listen to anyone especially the United Nations. When it comes to doing what's best for Israel, the PM will attack like they did Gaza, Syria, Iran. But Trump wants to police the world so if he wants to get involved with helping anyone then leaders are wise asking for his help. Israel did all the damage all the USA did was the destruction of the deep bunkers.

Trump had his own agenda to fulfill and he did. Using the idea of helping Israel allowed him to do his thing. He warned Iran and they renigged on the deal. Trump needed to send a warning.

The US provided the weapons, intelligence and refueling, without which those attacks wouldn't have been possible. Israel was 2 weeks away from running out of air defense missiles and Iran proved that they can bypass 10 layers of air defense and still hit Israel pretty much at will. So again, Israel could not exist without the US.
