Apply these daily verses from Isaiah , that I will choose , to yourself ❤️ .
Chapter 1 verses 11- 20 ;
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me ? saith the LORD : I am full of the burnt offerings of rams , and the fat of fed beasts ; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks , or of lambs , or of he goats .
When ye come to appear before me , who hath required this at your hand , to tread my courts ?
Bring no more vain oblations ; incense is an abomination into me ; the new moons and sabbaths , the calling of assemblies , I cannot away with ; it is iniquity , even the solemn meeting .
Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth : they are a trouble into me ; I am weary to bear them .
And when ye spread firth your hands , I will hide mine eyes from you : yea , when ye make many prayers , I will not hear : your hands are full of blood .
Wash you , make you clean ; put away the evil if your doings from before mine eyes ; cease to do evil ;
Learn to do well ; seek judgement , relieve the oppressed , judge the fatherless , plead for the widow .
Come now , and let us reason together , saith the LORD : though your sins be as scarlet , they shall be as white as snow ; though they be red like crimson , they shall be as wool .
If ye be willing and obedient , ye shall eat the good of the land :
But if ye refuse and rebel , ye shall be devoured with the sword : for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it . ❤️

Amen! Praise God.... Jesus became the new sacrifice, acceptable in the eyes of God and we're forgiven... Endless sacrifices, ceremonies, imsense etc followed by the same sins just didn't do it anymore. Thank You Jesus! Forgiven, bought and paid for by our saviour

Those Words r not just for that time and those people , they r for us too !
There's no point in us giving money to church funds and thinking that that puts us in good stead with God , He wants us to love ! Love Him , love Jesus and , show how much we love Them by loving each other ! ❤️

Chapter two , verses 2-5 ; And it shall come to pass in the last days , that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains , and shall be exalted above the hills ; and all nations shall flow into it .
And many people shall go and say , Come ye , and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD , to the house of the God of Jacob ; and he will teach us of his ways , and we will walk in his paths : for out of Zion shall go forth the law , and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem .
And he shall judge among the nation's , and shall rebuke many people : and they shall beat their swords into plowshares , and their spears into pruninghooks : nation shall not lift up sword against nation , neither shall they learn war any more .
O house of Jacob , come ye , and let us walk in the light of the LORD .
Verse 10+11 , Enter into the rock , and hide thee in the dust , for fear of the LORD , and for the glory of his majesty .
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled , and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down , and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day .
Verse 22 , Cease ye from man , whose breath is in his nostrils : for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

Isa. 1:17, "learn to do right, includes seeking justice, encouraging the oppressed and helping the poor. Jesus had to teach the Jewish religious leaders that it is right to do good works on the Sabbath (Matt. 12:12).
Isa 1:18a, “let us reason together”, teaches that human logic is a divine gift (cf. John 15:25, Acts 17:17, 1Cor. 2:6, 13:11 and 1Pet. 3:15b. These passages indicate that we should at least think and attempt to learn the best opinions or solutions regarding issues, even if we have little power to enact them.

We may not have power to find the best solutions to the world's problems , or our nation's problems , we may not b able to change the world and make it a better place but , we can behave accordingly in our day to day life , in our personal interactions with everyone that we come into contact with . For sure , God is with us every day and He sends people in and out of our lives and watches how we treat others , I believe this 100 per cent ❤️

Yes, and IMO this is true even if you believe it only 10 per cent.

Amen! And this in itself will help make the world just a little bit better. The more who apply this way of living in God, the better off we will all be...

Chapter 4 , verses 3-6 ; And it shall come to pass , that he that is left in Zion , and he that remaineth in Jerusalem , shall be called holy , even everyone that is written among the living in Jerusalem :
When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion , and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgement , and by the spirit of burning .
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion , and upon her assemblies , a cloud and smoke by day , and the shining of a flaming fire by night : for upon all the glory shall be a defence .
And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat , and for a place of refuge , and for a covert from storm and from rain . ❤️ .

Chapter 5 , verse 11-24 ; Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning , that they may follow strong drink ; that they continue until night , till wine inflame them !
And the harp , and the viol , the tablet , and pipe , and wine , are in their feasts : but they regard not the work of the LORD , neither consider the operation of his hands .
Therefore my people are gone into captivity , be sure they have no knowledge : and their honourable men are famished , and their multitude dried up with thirst .
Therefore hell hath enlarged herself , and opened her mouth without measure : and their glory , and their multitude , and their pomp , and he that rejoiceth , shall descend into it .
And the mean man shall be brought down , and the mighty man shall be humbled , and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled :
But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgement , and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness .
Then shall the lambs feed after their manner , and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat .
Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity , and sin as it were with a cart rope .
That say , Let him make speed , and hasten his work , that we may see it : and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come , that we may know it !
Woe unto them that call evil good , and good evil ; that put bitter for sweet , and sweet for bitter !
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes , and prudent in their own sight !
Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine , and men if strength to mingle strong drink :
Which justify the wicked for reward , and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him !
Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble , and the flame consumeth the chaff , so their root shall be as rottenness , and their blossom shall go up as dust : because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts , and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel .

Amen... These passages from the OT, often describing Israel and its generations' behaviour are fine reminders of what happens to civilisation when we abandon God and His commands. It's easy to read them and shake our heads in judgement, but it's what we see around us today, just with a different environment, and we must be careful not to wander into the same pitfalls in our own lives.
Good post.... Praise God!

I always try to apply everything that I read in the Old Testament to myself , as Solomon says ; There is no new thing under the sun . I don't we should b looking down our noses at any of the characters in there , do we really believe that we would have behaved better in their shoes ? The story of Gideon in the book of Judges always fascinated me , as a young woman I couldn't understand how he could fall so far . Sometimes we have to read between the lines . After doing so well in chapters 6+7 , halfway through chapter eight , things fall apart . Chapter 8 verse 27 , And Gideon made an ephod thereof , and put it in his city , even in Ophrah : and all Israel went thither a whoring after it : which thing became a snare unto Gideon , and to his house . What's that about ?!?! I can only assume that it goes back to chapter 6 , verses 22-32 and the destruction of the altar of baal . Maybe the men of his home town , including his own father , put pressure on him . How do we fare under peer pressure , if we lived in a small tight community , where we made our living and had our family ? Would we b able to resist peer pressure ? Strong men , a big gang , our neighbours , friends , family all demanding something of us in a world where we can't just up sticks and move on ? All scripture is given to us from God Himself to teach us .

Chapter 6 , the calling of Isaiah :
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne , high and lifted up , and his train filled the temple .
Above it stood the seraphims : each one had six wings ; with twain he covered his face , and with twain he covered his feet , and with twain he did fly .
And one cried into another , and said , Holy , holy , holy is the LORD of hosts : the whole earth is full of his glory .
And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried , and the house was filled with smoke .
Then said I , Woe is me ! for I am undone ; because I am a man of unclean lips : for mine eyes have seen the King , the LORD of hosts .
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me , having a live coal in his hand , which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar :
And he laid it upon my mouth , and said , Lo , this hath touched thy lips ; and thine iniquity is taken away , and thy sin purged .
Also I heard the voice of the Lord , saying , Whom shall I send , and who will go for us ? Then said I , Here I am ; send me .
How beautiful is that !?! ❤️ .

Isaiah Ch 6 V 5 , I missed out : and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips : 🙄 sorry 😒 .

Can't skip over chapter 7 without mentioning the awesome verse 14 ❤️ , there , I mentioned it 😜 .

Isaiah chapter 8 , verses 9-22 , Associate yourselves , O ye people , and ye shall be broken in pieces ; and give ear , all ye of far countries : gird yourselves , and ye shall be broken in pieces ; gird yourselves , and ye shall be broken in pieces .
Take counsel together , and it shall come to nought ; speak the word , and it shall not stand : for God is with us .
For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand , and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people , saying .
Say ye not , A confederacy , to all them to whom this people shall say , A confederacy , to all them to whom this people shall say , A confederacy ; neither fear ye their fear , nor be afraid .
Sanctity the LORD of hosts himself ; and let him be your fear , and let him be your dread .
And he shall be for a sanctuary ; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel , for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem .
And many among them shall stumble , and fall , and be broken , and be snared , and be taken .
Bind up the testimony , seal the law among my disciples .
And I will wait upon the LORD , that hideth his face from the house of Jacob , and I will look for him .
Behold , I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts , which dwelleth in mount Zion .
And when they shall say unto you , Seek unto them that have familiar spirits , and unto wizards that peep , and that mutter : should not a people seek unto their God ? for the living to the dead ?
To the law and to the testimony : if they speak not according to this word , it is because there is no light in them .
And they shall pass through it , hardly bestead and hungry : and it shall come to pass , that when they shall be hungry , they shall fret themselves , and curse their king and their God , and look upward .
And they shall look into the earth ; and behold trouble and darkness , dimness of anguish ; and they shall be driven to darkness .

Chapter 9 , verse 2 ; The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light : they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death , upon them hath the light shined .
Verse 6-8 ; For unto us a child is born , unto us a son is given : and the government shall be upon his shoulder : and his name shall be called Wonderful , Counseller , The mighty God , The everlasting Father , The Prince of Peace .
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end , upon the throne of David , and upon his kingdom , to order it , and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth and even for ever . The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this .
The LORD sent a word into Jacob and it hath lighted upon Israel .
Verse 13-20 , For the people turneth not unto him that smitteth them , neither do they seek the LORD of hosts .
Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail , branch and rush , in one day .
The ancient and honourable , head is the head ; and the prophet that teaches lies , he is the tail .
For the leaders of this people cause them to err ; and they that are led of them are destroyed .
Therefore the LORD shall have no joy in their young men , neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows : for every one is an hypocrite and an evil doer , and every mouth speaketh folly . For all this his anger is not turned away , but his hand is stretched out still.
For wickedness burneth as the fire : it shall devour the briers and thorns , and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest , and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke .
Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened , and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire : no man shall spare his brother .
And he shall snatch on the right hand , and be hungry ; and he shall eat on the left hand , and they shall not be satisfied : they shall eat every man of the flesh of his own arm :

Chapter 10 , verses 1-4 : Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees , and that write grievousness which they have prescribed ;
To turn aside the needy from judgement , and to take away the right from the poor of my people , that widows may be their prey , and that they may Rob the fatherless !
And what will ye do in the day of visitation , and in the desolation which shall come from far ? to whom will ye flee for help ? and where will ye leave your glory ?
Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners , and they shall fall under the slain . For all this his anger is not turned away , but his hand is stretched out still .
Verses 13-17 , For he saith , By the strength of my hand I have done it , and by my wisdom ; for I am prudent : and I have remove the bounds of the people , and have robbed their treasures , and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man :
And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people : and as one gatheteth eggs that are left , have I gathered all the earth; and their was none that moved the wing , or opened the mouth , or peeped .
Shall the axe boast itself against him that hearth therewith ? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it ? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up , or as if the staff should lift up itself , as if it were no wood .
Therefore shall the LORD , the LORD of hosts send among his fat ones leanness ; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire .
And the light of Israel shall be for a fire , and his Holy One for a flame : and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day ;
Verse 33 , Behold , the Lord , the LORD of hosts , shall lop the bough with terror : and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down , and the haughty shall be humbled .
