Hey folks,

So I still have much to read from my Bible (King James version), but so far I've mostly been reading the Old Testament. I was wondering what some of you think about wheter working on Sunday is a sin. After all my Bible gives as one of the ten commandments the following:

EXODUS 20; 8-10

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work,"

God bless you all.

Well... after some days you might be more confused. Ask Him. Hes real. In you.. He will give you a peace about it. Some will tell you that was only for Israel others will say its for all. Yeah.. pray ask Him. It is between you and Him anyway.

Regarding the question posed in the Title of the OP:

NO

Why seek guidance for the Church of the New Covenant amid the Law of the First Covenant which waxed and grew old and was replaced?

Now, if someone desires to continue living under the Law, well, then, that's on them. but I would caution them that no one can reach eternal life through Law living, for NO ONE can live ALL OF THE LAW!

The Law was intended for recognition of mans fallen state............Grace is intended for eternal salvation through the precious blood of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Welcome to CC, Julien,
No, working on Sunday is not a sin, for two specific reasons: we aren't ancient Israel under the Law; and even if we were, Sunday is not the Sabbath.

The books of Hebrews and Galatians in the New Testament explain that we as Christians are not under the Law as given to Israel through Moses.

Jesus is our Sabbath rest. We do not work for salvation.

Sunday is not the Biblical sabbath day anyway.. So working on Sunday cannot be called sin even by Old Testament stnadards..

The Biblical Sabbath starts on Friday sunset and ends on Saturday sunset..

Sunday is Funday.
so even if you do work on Sunday if you make it fun it doesnt seem like work. Personally I make mine the day off and just have a rest and dont go anywhere.

the commandment was to the Isralites but if you not an Israelites its pretty hard to keep with stuff going on all around you, some are very strict about it (like the jews) so strict that they even told Jesus off for healing on the sabbath.

The ceremonial "sabbath" a non time sensitive word was one day set aside that a person could share their substance food, shelter, clothing and the gospel .That they might be heard on high. The true fast. It was changed to the new era of rests the first day .The day he said let their be children of light. The day Jesus arose.

I don't think it is a sin to work on Sunday but i choose not to so i can give it to God. Jesus is the lord of the sabbath and he always worked on Sundays.
