Thanks for the shoutout! Hopefully I can help. :)

@jacko, I can't get screenshots to post here, but here's the best I can describe it:

1. Create a thread like normal, with a title and an opening post.

2. Instead of hitting "Post Thread," hit the "More Options" button right next to it. If you scroll down, you should see a line for "Post a Poll" -- on my screen it looks like a random line so it can be hard to miss.

3. When you hit "Post a Poll," the boxes will come up for your poll question (that can be different from your thread title if you want,) and boxes to post answers. Each time you write an answer and hit Enter, a new answer box will pop up. I think you get about 10 answer boxes (it's limited,) but you don't have to fill every one. You can stop whenever you want. But if you have several options and hit the last one, there won't be any other answer boxes that come up after you hit Enter.

4. You'll then see all the choices you can make as to how people can answer -- how many answers they can choose (I pick unlimited,) whether they can change their answers, and whether or not people can see the answers. If you want an anonymous poll, do NOT check (leave the box blank) for "Display Votes Publicly" and it shouldn't show who voted for want.

5. Hit "Post Thread" like normal and you should be good to go!

I know it's a lot of work, but polls are always interesting -- and fun! I think people love the ease of answering a poll.

You might want to do a test thread with a neutral or non-controversial topic just to get the hang of it first, if you're planning on writing more hot-button topics in the future.

Hope this helps and if you have other questions, I'll try my best to help. :)

It's great to see you writing threads -- keep up the good work!

Is it because they are too large? Are you unable to resize in Paint or do you not have that program?
I am not sure what device you are using. There are so many, any more! But you could always resize on
upload to my fave image host site, postimages.org, as they give that option along with various sizes to
choose from, then select the second line of code given (direct link) to post here, in the image tags...

One of these days, I might be able to figure it out... The last couple times I've tried, it hasn't worked.

Admittedly, I'm not very good with tech and have very limited patience when trying to figure out what to me are newfangled techniques . I'm also working on my laptop and opened a new window writing a fake poll, so I was able to go through all the steps on a real computer and write them down, which I find much easier than working on a phone.

Maybe someday I'll give it a retry -- and will surely ask for your expertise -- but for now, I'm hoping the steps listed above will be adequate! :p

Thanks very much for all the techie help you offer people here, Lady Magenta!

@seoulsearch I hear you, because I feel very limited on my phone also ... and because I'm at work and it's a Tuesday which is my 1st day of the week at work, I did not bring my laptop (I expect to be somewhat busy, especially with film scanning) ... I did start to try to build a gif for you to show you how to upload and size an image at the same time on Post images but I ran into the same problem I always do when making an animated gif ... because I do it so seldom I made the wrong selection when I'm choosing the timelime and now I don't know how to undo it and it's gonna take me another half an hour to figure that out just like it did last time... hopefully I'll be able to figure out LOL I'm being optimistic here ha ha but all that was on my laptop which is at home so I will return to it later this afternoon after work...

I wish someone knows how to fix my reaction bar. I started a thread yesterday in this forum but still not listed. Perhaps my thread capability is diminished as well.

Here's what I've noticed about the "Reaction Glitch":

1. I can still access all the reactions just fine on my phone. I have an Android -- I'm not sure if it's affecting different phones differently.

2. I was using Firefox on my computer for ages, but months ago, it stopped loading CC at all, so...

3. I switched to Chrome -- which was working just fine, until the reactions started glitching -- and others apparently are having this problem too. I even cleared my cache as a friend suggested, but no dice, so...

4. Yesterday I downloaded Opera and everything seems to be working fine there. I can once again choose any of the reactions, but I don't know for how long.

5. If all people can give are "Likes," is it stopping people in the more... "heated" areas of the forum from giving ANY reactions at all, because I'm sure people won't want to be forced to leave any "Likes" on posts they actually strongly "Dislike"?!:cool::geek:

Just curious.

Clear your browser's cache if the reaction emojis are not working.

I tried that, but unfortunately, no bueno -- on Chrome, at least.

Firefox won't load CC for me at all anymore.

Have you tried signing out in Chrome as well and not using any saved credentials?

I actually never sign into Chrome to use it, as I only used it for CC when Firefox stopped loading it for me and never made an account.

But do you ever sign out of this forum and then when you sign in you get prompted to use saved credentials?

I did when I cleared the cache, yes. Had to sign back into this site on Chrome but still had the same reaction glitch.

Odd problem to diagnose remotely.
Do you use a VPN?
Also, is it possible to send a screenshot of how this site looks on your end when you use Firefox?

I've never used a VPN.

When I try to load CC on Firefox, whether typing it into the address line myself or Googling it and clicking on the link, it says:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

And a few other people were talking about having the same reaction glitch on their end as well, so I'm not sure if it's me doing something wrong (totally possible,) or if there's something wonky going on with the browser or site.

Do you know how to launch a Private window in Firefox? 3 dots, top right, select New Private Window.
Go to the site from that private window.
Also could you pls send the firefox version from the Help/About menu?

Hey Eli,

I really do appreciate the diagnosis, but I'm not planning on opening any further windows since I've already found one that works?

So far, everything is working in Opera just fine...

I just checked, and it says I'm running the latest version of Firefox. I tried to do an update, but it says everything is up to date.

Version 130.0.1 - 64 bit, I believe.

Thanks very much for your help -- I do appreciate it but I keep several tabs open in Firefox, so for right now, I'm doing all the work I need to do there, then just switching to my tabs in Opera when I want to check CC (or use my phone...)
