John 14:6-7, “יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father too. From now on you know Him, and have seen.”

Is Yahshua/Jesus really our Master?

Should He be?

How important are His words?

Are His words still valid?

Are His words for Hebrew and non-Hebrew alike?

Do we let others get in the way of our relationship with Him?

Do we care about following Him?

Is following Him vital?

Do we treat Him, His words and His actions as the perfect example of how we should be?

Are His words above all others?

According to what He taught do we seek to live our lives?

2 John 1:9-11, “Everyone who is transgressing and not staying in the teaching of Messiah does not possess the Mighty One. The one who stays in the teaching of Messiah possesses both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house nor greet him, for he who greets him shares in his wicked works.”

Matthew 10:37-39, “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 “He who has found his life shall lose it, and he that has lost his life for My sake shall find it.”

John 14:23-26, “יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him. He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me. These Words I have spoken to you while still with you. But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.”

John 8:51 “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone guards My Word he shall never see death at all.”

John 12:25-26, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life shall lose it, and he who hates his life in this world shall preserve it for everlasting life." Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”

John/Yahanan 10:16, “And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. So there will be one flock, one Shepherd (4166 – poimén).”

Mat 24:35, “Heaven and earth may pass away, but My words (teachings) will not pass away.”

I believe He should be our everything, for YHWH has put Him as Master and said we are to obey Him

Deuteronomy 18:18-19, “I (YHWH) will raise up for them a Prophet (Yahshua/Jesus) like you from among their brothers, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He will tell them everything I command Him. Whoever will not listen to My words, which He speaks in My Name, I will judge him for it.”

"listen" is word #8085 - שָׁמַעshama` {shaw-mah'}

Brown-Driver-Briggs (Old Testament Hebrew-English Lexicon)
A primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.)

Hebrew Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar) - 1) to hear, listen to, obey

The new covenant guarantees all blessing through the work of Another; and from the knowledge of this springs the desire to obey on the part of the object of such grace.

We have already all been concluded under sin, without hope, but now...
.. God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
(Eph 2:4-5)

Paul made a statement to all of us in the Body of Christ

2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

He instructed us, in the Body of Christ, to know Christ according to the mystery. (Ephesians 3:1-6)

When we insist on knowing Christ as he was in the flesh during the 4 gospels, we are knowing Christ according to prophecy (Matthew 15:24)

Have you ever wondered why the Apostle Paul, with the exception of the Lord's supper, never talk about what Jesus said and did during the 4 gospels time period? It fits well to what he was saying in the above 2 passages.

Redundancy is not God's strong suit. There was no need for Paul to refer to every teaching of Christ, and in fact he came up with one which is not even recorded in the Gospels as stated -- "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35).

Paul was building on the foundation of the teachings of Christ, as were all the other apostles. They knew that the Gospels were already in circulation. And Paul was also given revelations which were kept hidden in the OT.

When Paul said that we henceforth know Christ no more "after the flesh" he was making it clear that ever since the resurrection, Jesus of Nazareth was no longer merely Jesus as walked on the earth prior to His crucifixion and resurrection. He was no longer simply the King/Messiah of Israel (since Israel had rejected Him). He was now the Risen Lord, the Lord of lords and the King of kings. And Peter said that He is now BOTH Lord and Christ, since all power and authority in Heaven and on earth have been given to Him. Thus we see that Jesus is called "the Lord Jesus Christ" generally, rather than simply "Jesus".

This is a thread about following Yahshua/Jesus, dwelling on His words and teachings and thoughts about Him, why is there an instant rejection of this and quoting of Paul, is it not permissible for the christian to read the Messiah's words and cherish them?

Of course, you are may reject that belief, I am fine.

It is interesting how understanding that would provide a more balanced view on whether God still heals us today as a sign. My current church believes in that and I smile when I recently saw my senior pastor urging us to, and I quote

There's healing power in the Word of God! The Bible says, "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions" (Ps 107:20).
Start reading about Jesus healing the sick. Start meditating on the Word. You'll find faith comes effortlessly and you can receive the healing that the Lord has purchased for you at the cross.
I smile because that to me sound like knowing Christ "according to the flesh", which is going against what Paul is saying above.

My reflection that I made, when I saw what my senior pastor did, was that

if we instead turn to Romans to Philemon to see whether healing is still for today, we will get verses like Philippians 2:25-28, 1 Timothy 5:23, and 2 Timothy 4:20.
Now these are clearly not as "encouraging" as reading the 4 Gospels and Early Acts. ;)

Do you dislike the Messiah and His teachings, seems like you came to a thread about Him and all you are doing is avoiding Him and placing other above Him...

Generally yes, I would word it differently and I feel some key principles are left out, but for a short quick statement that church leaders need to catch peoples attention I would say yes.

Nice Psalm too btw

Psalms 107:19-21, "And cried out to יהוה in their distress, He saved them out of their troubles. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Let them give thanks to יהוה for His loving-commitment, And His wonders to the children of men!

I see, then I can understand better why you love Jesus teachings to the House of Israel (Matthew 15:24) in the 4 gospels so much.

In my church, we were taught to believe that we in the Body of Christ are also entitled to the physical blessings of healings and material prosperity that God promised Abraham and his seed ever since Genesis.

I think the verse we hold on to is what Paul state in 2 Corinthians 1:20, although I now believe it was used out of context,

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

But putting myself in their shoes, it does makes sense for them to hold on to Jesus's signs and wonders for Israel during the 4 gospels (John 20:30:31).

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Both Paul's words and Jesus words come from the same Holy Spirit or are you going to pit one over the other?

You are misquoting Paul. He said...
2 Corinthians 5:16 NKJV
[16] Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

Why do those involved in Hebrew Roots Movement downplay/misrepresent/or ignore Paul?

Perhaps Peter gives us a clue...

2 Peter 3:15-16 NKJV
[15] and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation-as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, [16] as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

For anyone who today believes on Jesus death ,burial and resurrection for their sins according to the scriptures,,HAS found the way ( found him ) . The search is over for that person. They are now ' in Christ ' .
