Is The battle of Psalm 83 near?

I included an excerpt from this linked article. I do think this Psalm 83 war is approaching relatively soon. The conflicts between Israel and the Palestinians have continued this year.

The ten day conflict in May of this year demonstrated how volatile the situation is with Israel and the Palestinians. It was marked by protests and police riot control. There were also rocket attacks on Israel by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Israeli airstrikes targeting the Gaza Strip.

The article states, “These three, Israel, the Palestinians, and Hamas, are some of the leading players in the battle of Psalm 83.

Israel’s enemies devise a plan to remove Israel from the map. Psalm 83:4, “They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.” They not only want to destroy Israel, but they also want to remove it from everyone’s memory.

Verses 6-8 list those that are confederate against Israel. Some in the list are nations; others are people groups. If we apply a modern-day map to the names uses in Psalm 83, we come up with these places – Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and the West Bank. Gaza and the West Bank are the current home of the Palestinians.”

2For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
9Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

I do not see any battle in this Chapter that would be relevant to today. Folks would have to really reach to make it so IMO.........

Well, I can understand why yourself and others see it that way. Theories have their flaws, and the validity of this one is debated over by scholars.

I posted this theory as a result of seeing it suggested by the scholar Dr. Chuck Missler amongst others.

Perhaps this Psalm 83 theory could be viewed as a kind of foreshadowing of events for a similar event during the end times.

Ezekiel 38 states that Israel is dwelling “without walls” before the Gog Magog invasion. The Psalm 83 war theory states Israel is victorious in a conflict with the described enemies, setting the stage for the Gog Magog war.

I should have mentioned the validity of this theory is debated amongst Bible scholars. My apologies for not including this in the original post.
