Is Obedience Necessary for Salvation?

That is a bold face lie. You are not saved without faith in the Lord Jesus Christ...plain and simple.

We are saved the moment that we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet though, our Salvation is not affected if we stop believing. Salvation is a one time event, it is not a process. Hence, while a Christian should keep the faith and continue to believe, there is no guarantee that he will keep the faith, though. Therefore must a Christian Keep believing in order to stay saved??? No. A Christian Should keep believing, but not to stay saved, but rather to earn rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

If you are saved you won't turn into an atheist and still be saved. That is a foolish lie, right from the pits of Hell.

If a Christian walks after the flesh long enough, he is surely capable of departing from the faith.

Sounds like something the snake in the garden would have said.

What do you all think happens when you get saved? God don't just leave us to our own devices!

If you don't have the Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ then you are none of His....Plain and Simple.

God gives us the choice, whether we will walk in the Spirit or in the Flesh. It is a daily choice that we must make.

Obedience is the evidence that we have been saved.

Actually, Obedience is Evidence of Walking in the Spirit. The only evidence of our Salvation is the word of God and that is it.

Romans 6 The whole chapter speaks on this subject.

The old man is dead and was buried with Christ unto death and resurrected with him to walk in the newness of life.

Romans 6
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

The Old Man is dead positionally. But we still have to reckon him dead in our walk, otherwise we will resurrect the old man and then be under the power of sin once again.

It is a good question.
We can never obey enough to earn salvation and never be good enough. We don't even have the ability to obey properly, but Jesus has come to help.

If we love God and believe in his power to save you, your life is changed. The fruit of the Spirit is obedience. and This is seen in those that have Gods Spirit. if you are disobeying the Holy Spirit and following the flesh you really need to surrender yourself to God and ask for His Help. God will empower you to obey if you give your heart to Him. Surrender all and Obedience will result.

Sanctification is the process of Jesus living in us and us striving to be like Jesus. We have so far to go we need eternity to reach Gods standard but we have Justification to make us perfect along the way.

"Faith without works is dead" does not mean that faith is dead until it produces works and then it becomes a living faith or that works are the source of life in faith. That's like saying a tree is dead until it produces fruit and then it becomes a living tree and the fruit is the source of life in the tree. James is simply saying faith that is not accompanied by evidential works demonstrates that it's dead. If someone merely says-claims he has faith, but lacks resulting evidential works, then he has an empty profession of faith/dead faith (James 2:14) and not authentic faith. We are made alive together with Christ by grace through faith FIRST then UNTO good works. (Ephesians 2:5-10)

Faith produce love because faith in Jesus mean entrust to the point invite Jesus into us as soon as Jesus in us there is love in us because Jesus is love
Did other see our love instantly ? May be not example we have love to the hungry but we ourselves don’t have food how we demonstrate our love to him when we are not capable

This does not say Christ lost Demas. It doesn't say Demas used to be saved and it doesn't say Demas isn't saved anymore.

It says Demas loved this present world and that he forsook Paul as a result of that. Presumably Demas went to the church of the Thessalonians.

Taking this verse, which also says Titus departed, should we presume that Titus is damned to hell?

Jackson123, John 15:5-6 does not teach that a Christian can lose salvation. Since the King James Bible teaches Free Grace Theology. If a branch in Christ (saved person/Christian) does not bear fruit, that Branch (Christian) will wither (lose his testimony), in other words, his testimony will be shot. And the Father will have to take that Christian home to heaven early.

Posthuman, I understand that that verse is not teaching loss of Salvation. But what that verse of Scripture does teach is that any Christian is capable of going back to the world. Even though Demas forsook Paul and went back to the world, Demas indeed is still a saved, born again man. Even if a Christian forsakes the word of God and denies Christ, nevertheless, Christ will not leave that Christian. And neither will the Holy Scripture (King James Bible). For the Christian is kept by Jesus Christ (Word of God) and the Holy Scripture (word of God, the King James Bible).

Look at it this way, posthuman. Salvation is the Lord God (Jesus Christ) Keeping us and also His holy Scripture (King James Bible) keeping us. Whereas Discipleship is us abiding in Christ Jesus and also us keeping His Holy Scripture (King James Bible).

I think the entire argument is ridiculous. To have eternal life we must be perfect, so why in the world would we give our self over to sin? The only way to perfection so we can be saved is through what Christ did about it. It makes sense to glory and thank our God for giving us that perfection, why fight about wanting imperfection instead? It is enough that no matter how we try we still miss the mark, it is Christ within that gives us the perfection required to live eternally with God. Why ever should anyone want to sin, instead of glorying in the righteousness Christ gives us.

Blk, Yes, in order for us to enter into Heaven, we indeed must be Perfect. We must be as perfect as God is, and we also must be as perfect as His word (The holy Scripture) is. When you and I got saved, we received the imputed Righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we also received the very righteousness of His word (The Holy Scripture, The King James bible). And then you asked the question, why should anyone want to sin, instead of glorying in the righteousness Christ gives us? Well Blk, all Christians still sin in thought, word and deed. We sin whenever we yield to our flesh (our old sin nature). When we abide in Christ and walk in the Spirit and His word, this is when we do not sin.

Yes, there is definitely hope.

It is the enemy who is trying to make you think there is no hope for you. Don't believe it...The Devil is a liar and the father of lies.

All you have to do is sincerely call out to the Lord and reach out to Him. He is not far from any of us.

Think about the thief on the cross. Jesus saved him at the end of his life and told him, "this day you shall be with me in paradise."

Jesus loves you so much that he laid down his life for you.

All you have to do is go to him in repentance, put your hope, faith and trust in Him.... and he will take you in, save you, and will in no wise cast you out.

I tried to correct that last post, but went over the 5 minute limit.

If you have already sincerely repented and turned to the Lord in your heart....then you are saved.

Don't let the enemy trouble you.

If you have given your heart to the Lord, then you are saved.

God not only forgave you of your past, but he also forgot it.

You are covered by the Blood of Jesus, and safe in his arms.


I'm praying that the Lord open up your understanding to this and comfort you.
