I used to hear that Cebuano (people in Cebu) are fighters or known for their bravery, they are very nice but they are not scared to fight or even fist fight when somebody tramples them. (I don't know if Gideon would agree to that)

Ilonggo are the most affectionate group here, people in Western Visayas, mainly Iloilo and even if they are mad you wouldn't think they are because they are soft-spoken people.
Waray (eastern Visayas) almost all of them are Catholics and are very religious. They're called as brave warriors too and has that phrase "Waray never back down from a fight" they are fierce people when provoked.

Ilocano (people in Northern Luzon) are the ones who are thrifty.
Bicolano (southeastern of Luzon) loves to eat spicy foods or loves foods that has coconut milk on it ,they are good cook and even men can cook well and they talk a lot also.
Kapampangan (central Luzon, mainly Pampanga) they said most are arrogant and noisy hehe I don't know if it's true but they value so much on families and the bond is unbreakable and always ready to help in times of need, and even if you're a very distant relative they will accept you wide open arms. They are good cooks too and their cuisine has gained a favorable reputation among others.
And of course a lot more since I think we have 100 ethnic and tribal groups here. Visayan and Tagalog are the ones dominating the country.
We may belong to different ethnic groups but in majority, Filipinos share the same traits of being cheerful despite of how poor the country we live in and respect to the elder ones. Also, one thing that never change, Filipinos has close family ties and preserves the good family relationship, and it's not surprising to see 2nd to 3rd generation still living in one roof or even other relatives stay with us in one roof. Often nowadays, even if families have their own houses but they live together with their relatives in one compound or village so they won't be isolated from their clan. One thing I do really admire too is how selfless most Filipinos are especially those people working abroad. If you ask them why they work hard, one common reason they would say is, they want their families in the Philippines to have a better life even if they sacrifice their own happiness, and I salute them for that.
But of course, we Filipinos are nothing special we also have negative traits, but it boils down to individuals personalities.![]()
I'm originally from Mindanao... if you're scared of Manila, that's probably because it's a crowded area and the threats seem to be more concentrated...but actually threats are everywhere, anywhere in the world. Pray, Maxwell...and enjoy your time being here in the Philippines, wherever it is you choose to go![]()
About Mindanao - I'm a resident of Cagayan de Oro City and I've travelled to some "areas" in Mindanao.
My advice is that there are areas here that Foreigners should not visit, especially now that the Elections is fast approaching.
Even with all the good intentions and proven background of whatever endeavor of good to humanity,
there are some things that takes time and Mindanao is evolving in its own pace.
We cannot guarantee your safety - so it is wise to listen to good counsel.
MINDANAO IS SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol![]()
