Hello,
is it wrong to pray and ask God to protect our property? I have an older vehicle that needed repairs and I had them done. Now I want to ask Him to protect the truck from further issues.
Thanks

No, it's not wrong, but we must also be ready to submit to his will, whatever it is. His answers are one of four: yes, no, not yet, and not the way you thought it would be. After all, he's God, and we're not.

Not really. When Israel wondered in the wilderness, neither their clothes nor their shoes wore out

What you posted here, (About the clothing and footwear), is absolutely true but it had nothing to do with "anointing" something with oil or prayer. It was a Divine miracle. Just as was the cloud that followed Israel by day and the column of fire at night.

Is it wrong?
Precious friend, No:

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the Peace of God,
which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. " (Philippians 4:6-7 AV)
Amen.

How about when you anoint the door post to keep away evil? Does that work with a car?
