Hello. Is it okay to confess your feelings to an unbeliever? Even though you have no plans to be in a relationship with that person. God said not to yoke with an unbeliever so I just to know if it's okay to share what you feel. Thank you. I appreciate your reply. God bless.

You're free to do whatever you want. We all are.

Doing what you asked about would open a can of worms, but if you want to deal with the result... Sure, you can do whatever you want.

Its OK to a Point. You will find that Boundary. Personally, I have always been open and honest with Non Believers. The people I worked with for many years, liked that about me. I never tried to be "Holier Than Thou"(I hate that). When Non Believers needed help or just needed to Pour Out, they could trust me. I was always there for them. Some cried and asked me "How Do You Do It? I told them that Im no different, I just have Jesus on The Cross. Grace and a Wonderful Future in Heaven with a God who Loves me more than Himself.

It's extremely unwise.
Lots of potential problems with anyone....even moreso with unbelievers who use the same vocabulary but with different definitions.

I see nothing whatsoever sharing your feelings to an unbeliever, otherwise how would an unbeliever become a believer? Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Sure - as long as your "Feelings" don't include your Social Security number, your credit card numbers, or your bank account numbers. THAT could get expen$ive. Romans 14:23 governs: If you CAN'T DO IT IN FAITH, then for YOU it's SIN.

If by "feelings" you mean you are interested in them and would like to pursue a romantic relationship then I say "no, it wouldn't be wise to share those "feelings" with an unbeliever"
you've acknowledged that you know not to be unequally yoked with such a person, so what benefit would come by doing so?
please don't think "well if they know how I feel about them then it could lead them to Christ/make them a believer too."
"Missionary dating" is a very dangerous game to play (spiritually speaking)- oftentimes it backfires, pulling the believer away from their faith rather than pulling the unbeliever into it.
Be friends (if possible) with this individual, but if these "feelings" are too strong you are better to cut ties and move on.

Allowing the other to know the truth of why no relationship can come of the attraction? Especially if the feelings
are mutual. If they are not, then such a disclosure might not be wise at all. Best to let it go and move on.

If you're speaking of romantic feelings, what's the point in expressing them? This isn't even a believer/non-believer issue. Why tell anyone you ave feelings for yhem if you would have no intent on dating?
Seems to me such expressions should be kept quiet until such a time as you plan on acting on them. Otherwise you may simply hurt people and potentially ruin friendships.

my answer is NO! even though that person may be trained in psychology, psychiatry or human relations, you'll get much more Godly assistance from an experienced believer or pastor. i try not to talk to unbelievers & definitely try not to associate with them but i always pray for them.

Practically, if said person is an unbeliever of good character all such a confession would lead to is confusion and hurt for them ( Basically you're saying, I find you really attractive but I won't ever date you or act on those feelings because you aren't good enough for me unless you share my faith). If said person is of less than good character, now knowing that you're already attracted they may decide you're going to be easier to seduce and pursue you with hope that your attraction will overcome your objections.

So initiating the conversation doesn't seem like it can have any benefit. If you get stuck being asked point blank, I'd advise honesty that doesn't open the door. If someone I knew to be an unbeliever asked if I had feelings for them; I'd probably respond my feelings don't matter because I'm committed to obeying God's commands including those to not pursue intimate partnerships with people who don't share my faith.
