commonwealth countries believe in the monarch. At christmas time, they tune in their tv sets for a christmas message. The monarch or whoever wears the crown then talks about how busy they were this year from their palace going round walkabout waving at people. In the background they have a big christmas tree and photos of the royal family dressed in their finest clothes and wishes all their subjects a merry christmas.

Catholic countries believe in the Pope. He sometimes writes letters to his subjects often in a language they dont understand. But they all have an obligation to attend midnight mass on christmas eve where they get blessed for being good catholics. Catholics are also obligated to tithe to the Vatican.

secular countries and republics just make their shops open more and hope they can improve their economy by spending all their hard earned money on gifts. Their christmas message is buy buy buy. The shops play jingle music non stop. On Boxing day everything is half price.

thing is, the public in general is gullible these days

Since adults can be and are often enough gullible, it seems obvious that children are open to being tricked or deceived.

With that regard, parents should not be raising their children according to someone elses' conviction.

It's easy enough to explain that Mr Claus is simply a made up fable and not to be confused with Jesus who is real

Could say plenty here but it seems plenty has already been said. At any rate, I refuse to be dictated to by anyone and God knows, there
are plenty of religious dictators let loose on this world

Nonetheless, we do have this beautiful portion of scripture:

Haters gonna hate...........
The result of the hatred of the One we now know as Christ Jesus:

Hebrews 1:9 NKJV
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
