I always thought, “yeah, I know, a Christian relationship is the best option.” and it really is compared to what the world has to offer but when you are living in times, when even Christian relationships are similar to non Christian relationships; you wonder, “are they really a believer?”, “Was I never saved?” and “does God really exist?”

Last relationship I was in, it took me about 12 years to get into another serious relationship. So, only God knows how long it’ll be this time, another 12? or one of God’s many other famous numbers? 3? 7? 40?

I probably just need to spend a ton of time in scripture and A LOT of therapy.

Just Some Random Thoughts:

1. If you have questions about your own salvation, or the existence of God, you should get those resolved ASAP just for your own peace with God, and peace with yourself.

2. You should certainly get those two questions resolved before getting into any new relationship.

3. I wouldn't worry about how bad or unspiritual other people's relationships are - a relationship is usually what we make it.

4. If you're dealing with a recent breakup and it's hitting you hard, I'd recommend a LOT of time in scripture. And good Christian fellowship, even counseling, is probably a good idea.

We all go through difficult times.

Thank you @maxwel

1. I think my last relationship sent me for a whirlwind, especially since it was my first somewhat serious relationship, after ten years of accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.

2. I don't plan on jumping into any new relationship for now until those questions are resolved. I've had a few women in the past few days hit on me but there is no way I am ready to jump into anything; not after the abuse I just recently went through.

3. I do have a Christian therapist, who I talk to weekly. Might have to increase therapy sessions to twice a week again.

4. This site is where I currently receive Christian fellowship, no place is perfect.

5. I'm thinking of rereading Psalms, out loud and the full New Testament out loud.

I appreciate the reply.

For me scripture is therapy. I was with my late wife 32 years. No relationship is like Ward and June Cleaver. Not to say it was bad but had its ups and downs. Ive always been a believer but didnt live as one until 15 years or so ago. Im not an easy man but she was half Irish and could handle me. Always told the kids I wasnt scared of anybody except their mom. :) Relationships are not always rosey but with her I would do it all again.

I wish I had a shot to redo all relationships but in individual separate live. I just hope I wouldn't make the same mistakes.
