They say they're a Christian but they act as they did before they found Christ. They party, do drugs, commit adultery, and so forth. Willful sinning.
They say they are Christian but they do drug, adultery etc

Thats mean you believe Christian Mus not commit adultery, am I correct?
But If Christian do adultery he still save, is that what you believe?

This is so often the reply to saying Jesus won't leave a believer who is in adultery or theft etc, that they have a 'license to sin' or as jackson123 says that believers can get away with more than a non believer for sin.

The thing is .. a believer has the Holy Spirit dwelling in their spirit.

So... if they get caught in sin.. they will be convicted by the Holy Spirit to change.

Therefore the chances are higher for a believer to flee sin than a non believer.

The other thing is.. a person doesn't leave their child if the child is disobedient.. are we going to say Jesus will leave His child then?

That would mean less love than a parent to a child!

Let see the history of human.

Adam and eve was God child. God provide them with a nice Garden. I don't think they ever die If they obey God not to Eat the fruit of knowledge. They disobey and God kill them, now they and their offspring are mortal.

As a parent If my son disobey me I am not going to kill him. But God is just, not that He don't love His child, but It is His rule.

Lol, I’ve been saved for over forty years and walk with the Lord in joy every day. Thanks for caring though.

yes, it was/is God's ruling that the wages of sin is 'death' - this had to be, otherwise,
death and sin would be 'eternal', which means, that all of the world's
perversion and misery would just go-on and on-forever...
GEN. 3:22.
And The LORD God said,
Behold, the man is become as one of Us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand,
and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
1COR. 15:54.
RESSURECTION CHAPTER =
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

man's system-of-sin WILL eventually come to an end, and God's system of Righteousness shall be Eternal -
as it is written:
REV. 21:4.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for (the former things are passed away)

HEB. 5:9.
And being made perfect, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation unto all them that 'obey Him;
ROM. 6:12.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13.
Neither yield you your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God,
as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

These verse is also by Paul that say salvation by faith not by work.

Adulterer not go to heaven, is that mean stop adultery bring you to heaven?

Than salvation by work

How you go to heaven? Stop adultery?

No you can't do It yourself

Go to heaven is by faith and faith in Jesus Will help you stop adultery.

I want to go to heaven that is why I stop adultery. Wrong

I want to go to heaven than I invite Jesus to my hearth and He Will teach and help you to life a Holy life.

The focus is faith not work

I am adulterer is that mean I am not save?

Base oN those verses I am not.

No body perfect is that mean every body not save?
If you are practicing adultery you will go to hell unless you repent and believe on Jesus and are changed and no longer practice adultery. If you believe that you can practice adultery and still be saved by believing that what the bible says about Jesus is true, you are deceived and will go to hell.

Does that answer your question? Even the devils believe and tremble.

So you believe adulterer not save but the definition of adultery is if you do It oftenly, if only once a years not consider adultery.
Am I correct
Great question! In my opinion, the limit for cheating a spouse is ZERO. But I don't say that this is an unforgivable sin -- I just say the sinner will have to repent bitterly.

The person who has not put his or her faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ is destined for destruction (aka 'hell').

As the quoted verse says, that is what some of you were.

In other words, we were saved from that kind of behaviour or lifestyle. Continuing such behaviour is inconsistent with a claim to Christian faith. Not doing such things won't get you saved, and doing such things won't get you unsaved, but they will diminish your effectiveness and joy, and probably cause some unpleasant and/or unwanted consequences.
I think your position as expressed in the letters in bold font is the reason why so many people that call themselves born again Christians are continuing to sin (causing confusion in the church of God) because they believe they are covered by the blood of Jesus and therefore they can get away with their sins. Man is flesh, therefore, it is impossible for man not to sin, they say. Just believe in the cross. No Bro, this is wrong doctrine. By carrying that cross, dying, by his resurrection and ascension, Christ Jesus has given us power over sin and all works of darkness, that, it is now possible for man not to sin again. Not only that, he showed us by example in words and works how it can be done. But how can we stop, if we do not believe and acknowledge that it is possible. We must rid ourselves of the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eyes and the pride of life. The Holy Spirit is there to guide us through the narrow path. We have the power of the cross and the understanding our Lord Jesus declared to us.

We read in Hebrews 10: 26 -27 "'for if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sin . But, a certain fearful looking for, of judgement and a fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries.
Verses 28 -29 are equally instructive here.

you can use Christ as an excuse to continue sin or you can accept his word and repent and be forgiven and leave that behind . Jesus is not meant for
Excusing is to go on enjoying sin , he came to turn our heart and
Minds away from it because it will lead us to hell

no one is lost yet we can either aerve
Sin and be lost in the end or we can repent and go to the lord in repentance and believe this way in our mind so it keeps us from adultery

“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:28-30‬ ‭

you see Jesus message is not “ if you have ever committed adultery your lost “

his message is “ adultery begins in your mind and heart cut it off there and you don’t do it or want to , repent because it’s going to lead to hell “

it’s not about what you did , it’s about what you believe can we accept Jesus way of believing and
Thinking about things ? That’s the question faith has to come from What he said , not what we think different

Then I started to notice my drinking habits changing , I was drinking less and less , and now after 5 years this month of being saved , I have gone 9 months without a drink...All the glory to God Amen...

The Holy Spirit can take away some addictions right away , or others He works out according to our Fathers will...

I am no longer a drunkard , but I watch my step in case I fall ....xox...
I love your testimony. For me, it has the necessary "ingredients" of a true repentant heart as pertaining to your drinking. I believe the Spirit not only quickens but ensures we learn the requisite spiritual lessons inherent in the path, which may take time.

I see it this way.

When we are in the flesh and are having fun, our heart, mind and body get used to that path and are snared by it that it becomes difficult for us to part ways. And because we enjoy the pleasures of that path, we continue in it even if we know we are doing the wrong thing without feeling any remorse of the wrong done. (Though sometimes we may feel it but do not care). The worry and cares of the world and the deceitfulness of the pleasures of this path continue to keep us bound in the path and harden our heart in the process. The sin inherent in the path becomes malignant in us and when something is malignant, it becomes difficult to cure or do away with.

However, when we repent and start treading on the right path, the tentacles of our old ways, that carnal nature built over the years, will not give way easily. As the heart, mind and body are being renewed towards the right path, we will struggle because they are already used to a particular way of life and were pleased with it. From our experience, we know it is difficult to leave that which we enjoy and cherish. The motions of sin accumulated over time will continue to vent themselves out until they are subdued as we continue steadfastly in the comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, in true repentance, we could face an inner struggle between the spirit and the flesh as our heart is being renewed and spirit strengthened. We see ourselves doing the wrong or evil we hate to do while failing to do the good required of us. In this state, we should not despair but be hopeful because our God who sees and judges the heart and not appearances remains with us in this struggle without any condemnation, provided we continue not willingly to walk after the flesh for the body will eventually be quickened and made alive in our new way of life, for the spirit of righteousness in Christ Jesus makes us free from the spirit of life of sin and death (Romans 8:2)

The difference between when we were walking after the flesh and enjoying the pleasures of it and when we repent and jettison that path and find ourselves at times falling back to our vomit, is the remorse, sometimes tears, or the regret and the sadness we feel when we fall which propel us to reject the more that ugly situation and make us more resolute, resourceful, resilience and faithful towards the right way. We see how abhorrent that situation was and we vow never to do it again which unfortunately may not be our last fall as the carnal nature rears its head again. But, we will eventually overcome with the guidance of the Holy Spirit if we continue rejecting the path sincerely. This state of mind is not present when enjoying the life after the flesh. In a moment of serenity or sobriety we might regret our actions but because there is no true repentance of heart, we sink deeper into the pleasures we know best because we only have faith in that way of life.

No ... No... No... No...

Those who love the LORD love His Word / teachings and strive to avoid murdering, committing Adultery and other things revealed in his word to be against the will of God.. They do not use the grace of God as a license to sin.. They do not have a willful sinning attitude towards God..

BUT!!!!

No one can succeed in avoiding sin 100% of the time living a perfect sinless life.. Therefore The Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ does cover sins like murder, adultery, theft or any of the other transgressions revealed in the Bible short of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. For those that believe and trust in the LORD Jesus..
Striving is not enough. We must stop sinning.

God commands us to be holy and perfect as he is, for He is holy and perfect. I do not think he would have commanded us thus knowing that it would be impossible for us to achieve. Sin and holiness cannot coexist. They are parallel. it is 100% true that man can live a sinless life on earth if we truly understand the way of the cross and the understanding our Lord Jesus declared to us.

The context here is a rebuke Paul is giving to the Church at Corinth. They are taking one another to court before unbelievers (v.6) and Paul has to remind them that such have no part in the Kingdom. It has nothing to do with adultery.
The important lesson there for us all and to those it was addressed to, is to know that "":wrongdoers"" will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Paul listed examples of what he meant by wrongdoers. It has a lot to do with Adultery and the rest as mentioned in the text.

I believe when we have the Holy Spirit in us , we will never live in the way we did before we were saved...
Yes we struggle with sin , but we do sin less...

We do not practice what we once did , we run from it , yet in some areas we will always struggle in the flesh...
...xox...
If we remain steadfast on the way, we will overcome sin totally, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus tells us, if we continue with him, we will know the truth and the truth shall make us free. The key word is continuation, steadfastness, perseverance and such like. It is a narrow way, we must remain faithful and steadfast till the end.

some very good posts here:

This is unbiblical HOGWASH!

It's also shockingly poor spelling. How hard is it to use spell-check?
Everybody here is not an English professor like you. The most important thing is that we understand what people are trying to say.

Paul was criticized for his speech by the Corinthians but you and I know that this kind of criticism has no part in the way of the cross.

Let us give attention to what is being conveyed or the spirit of the word and not on the grammar or spelling.

that’s wonderful stuff

would you say that in order to come to that place of repentance believing the gospel is imperative , meaning the view and understanding Jesus gave pertaining to his eternal judgement ?

for instance suppose a person is at a place where their own mind is whispering that repentance isn’t important anymore because of “ the cross” wouldn’t we need to change our thinking about that first before we will come to a point of repentance ? Or even acknowledging our need for it personally ?

I think that often we can’t see it pertaining to ourself our own need for repentance I mean , because our thinking about God is all wrong . Renewing of the mind I believe happens through belief of the gospel , believing the judgements Jesus set forth for us . The more we can believe and accept his word faith goes into motion within and works to bring about the changes in our mind and heart that leads our actions

if we in our heart believe repentance isn’t important we never will find that sorrow we need for true repentance . It hurts a lot sometimes to have the light shine on your inner darkness , but that pain leads through the sorrow to a better place in Christ that opens new possibilities

You wrote really wonderful post very edifying sorry for interrupting that was good though

'OVER-COMING' is a 'DAILY' process, different for 'each and every one of us in/on an 'individual way',
according to our individual circumstances in this wicked world...
how we respond to being led to 'repentance' is surely a very private thing, but yet, common
in so many ways...
