I'd like to know why they haven't developed that by now myself. It's not like the iPhone has a small market share.

Workaround: Get a cheap Android phone for CC chat and tell your expensive iPhone to hotspot data to it. You iPhone users wouldn't BELIEVE how cheap Android phones can be.

That's where a smartphone shares its data by making a wifi signal that other devices can connect to for getting online. The phone becomes a wifi router. You can connect anything to it - desktop, laptop, tablet, other phones, whatever - and share the phone's data connection.

Caveat: Some phone plans may not allow it. If you try to turn it on and your phone says it is not allowed, it's not the phone's fault. It's your service provider not allowing it. Generally the cheaper plans don't allow hotspot/tether.

Thank you. Until yesterday I only had cell phones that dialed and received calls , had messaging and little more.

I thought I should try to use one with wifi capability, so I bought one yeasterday for people with low vision. I came home after having the phone set up for me by the company here only to find the instruction manual is about an inch by an inch and a half. Well, you can guess how the print is. I doubt many here tcould read it.

I tried scanning at different dpi's then enlarging to no avail. Going back to the center where I purchaed the thing they are going to find a manual and email a pdf to me.

I have figured out some, but not much. Thanks for the patience saint.

As a heads up the section User2User Tech is best suited for such questions.
There was originally Android, PC, and Apple/Mac apps, but the PC and Apple got pulled. Tons of issues with the PC one. Since two of the three original were pulled and never added back chances of an iPhone version sound pretty slim.

Yeah, well... The old browser-based version of chat was working well enough. Just saying. I never understood why we had to switch to an app.

But maybe the browser-based version didn't work on smartphones. I never tested it there. Maybe we had to make the jump to apps because nobody could chat without bringing a laptop.
