Been suggested countless times.
I consider it a bad idea, personally. Way too easy to be abused.

not really other Christian chat sites have features like that, such as a laughing out loud reaction notification choice but though it looks more interactive it really doesn't add to conversation, one that has lots of members does this type of like style and while as I said it catches your eye,the threads are nearly dead, not just because of the icons but the apologetics stuff too, neither really do much good, leads to more of ranting or even no posts.

There used to be a way to rep down people. Instead of a green rep comment, you see a red one. I got way too many (I was a lot younger then) and even got infractions (for over posting, seriously!)

It was discouraging lol.

Well I used to be on a site that allowed negative reps and it was nightmarish at times when the popularity contest went south.
The negativity just boiled over at times and made things unpleasant. Many times folks wound up being banned. Having a dislike button would be much the same .
My opinion it would be used as a stone or arrow to inflict damage upon one or another.

It's bad enough that people constantly twist each other words on CC and call each other names. (Heretic!) Neg reps would just make it worse.

I feel like a dislike button would just hurt people's feelings. God is not trying to win a popularity contest, and neither should we.

This is a Christian forum so I don't really care too much for that idea.

Instead, there should be a "Pray for" and a "Pray against" option.

Yeah "hatred only breeds more hatred" if there was a dislike option then many people would probably be disheartened because seeing a like is uplifting, but a dislike well that could lead to many an unnecessary brawl here, for there are many demonimations of christianity here as well as a fare few"feud starters" that make an entrance from time to time, and a dislike option would probably just get people wanting to rant and not want to discuss, case in point,Face in my view is horribly unorganized and has hurt many a person because not only do they not seem to filter explicit material but they also have a dislike option, and it's just chaos in my opinion,I only use it to keep in contact with friends and family but just a few minutes on there and I want to leave and come back here.

Ok, but seriously, I've heard of wayyyy too many cases of people on this site getting horrible messages through reps as it is...so yeah. :/

looks like facebook took out the dislike option,so instead I'll point out youtube, youtube is ok,it has a dislike option and while that makes sense due to artistry,it flourishes video wise but conversation wise not so much,so I still think it's not a good idea.

Yeah I haven't received one yet but I've heard about that,it's cowardly and mean, but unfortunately people will do that sort of thing from time to time.
