Hi I am a 44 year old mother of 3. I also have a grandson. I grew up Catholic but changed to Christianity a few years ago. Looking to find friends. I am introverted and it can be hard to make friends at my age. Especially Christian ones. Would love to chat with people who follow Jesus.

Hi, Faith76, so nice to have you join in the fellowship here at CC:)! I like your tee shirt, that's one of my favorite songs and was my ringtone for quite a while. Hope to see you at the forums here, God bless you and your family!

Wonderful to read you got out of the roman catholic church like me.. :)

Welcome to CC Faith76

I guess this form of text communication is designed for introverts.. I would say i am leaning towards the introverted side of things but not excessively so.. So on more then one measure i know where you are coming from.. Never worry introverts get on well in forums (y)

Hope you are a blessing and are blessed by your time in CC

Thank you! Yes online is perfect for the introverts but I do crave real discussions. So it can be hard. I’m hoping to at least build a few Christian friends on here.

Hello Faith! Welcome to CC.
I do hope you will enjoy your time here.
Sadly though, just as in the real world offline, CC has it's fair share of........
(um, to put it nicely) users you won't want to discuss ANYTHING with or read anything from.......
please DO NOT be chased away by them.
The good far outweigh them :) .
I am very sure you will find something here to jump into, and of course, you are more than welcome to always start your own thread (which, like this opening had to, will pend approval from moderators before posting public)
Enjoy!

Blessings!
GG

Welcome to CC, Faith!

That would be awesome. I’ll hold out my cup for you to fill it up 😁. Thanks for the welcome.

Yes. I was baptized in the Catholic Church and raised until I was 17. I got married and had kids and Divorced but I always felt like the church didn’t have the same views as what I believe Jesus wanted for me. I stopped going to church but then about 4 years ago I kept feeling this strong tug to find a church. I stumbled upon a BIC church and fell in love with the way they taught the word. It has become a feeling of home. Where Jesus wanted time to go and to start actually learning about him. When did you get out?

Welcome. How old is your grandson? I’m 44 also and my children are mostly grown. My wife is really looking forward to having grand babies around. What kind of stuff do you enjoy doing?

Hi and thanks for the welcome. My grandson is almost 3. I watch him on Fridays as my son and his girlfriend work 2nd shift. He keeps me going but can tire me out. He loves playing sports and I’m not the best teacher at them lol. Grandchildren are such a blessing. So your wife will have the time of her life when they arrive. I enjoy baking, hiking, taking long walks, reading the scripture, listening to music. Going to the beach which I’m hoping to get to do next month if everything is back open. Trying to stay careful through all of the illnesses in the world but also want to start living and enjoying the beautiful world again. What do you guys like to do?

Our children have always been in travel sports, so driving them around and socializing with the other parents was all we had time for. Since soccer is cancelled and hockey might be, this is the first year we might get to choose what we do. If all goes as planned, we will be spending our time hot tubbing. Hanging out with the family is our go to. We enjoy ping pong and billiards. The girls have their boyfriends over occasionally for a game night. All good fun!

Yes my sons baseball was cancelled but they are trying to start practice the end of July as long as the COVID numbers stay down. Let’s pray for that. I am ready to start living life outside of my house again. And hot tubbing sounds awesome! It is nice to be able to relax once and a while.

In my early 20's i think it was 22/23.. A friend at work gave me a Bible and i read it.. by the time i got into the Gospel of Matthew i was no longer a catholic.. and by the time i was reading Romans i finally understood the Way of salvation by the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ.. That's when i truly became a Christian.. Romans 7 was the chapter that made me understand.. :) I have been a Christian for just over 30 years now and i have never had doubts about the Way the Truth and the Life, the Word that became flesh and dwelt among men.. :giggle:
