I don't disagree, but wasn't Christ promised in Genesis 3?
There is another reason why I bring this out. Adam was representative of the whole human race. We all died IN ADAM. I was hoping some would explore this aspect of what it means to be in Christ.

Do you see how what Abraham did with Isaac begets what God did with Jesus ? And then consider what this is saying

If Jesus were the son of Adam I think his death would be meaningless. He was without sin, therefore proof he was and is the Son of God. (I'm just stopping by this thread quickly so didn't read you entire post. I may be repeating something you already addressed here.) Got to run!

I'm sure you are speaking about water baptism. How does a physical act produce a spiritual reality? Even if you believe baptism to be a necessary attendant as part of salvation, there still is, of necessity, a spiritual causation to make it effectual. There is no spiritual power in water, otherwise a normal bath would produce the same result.
Right. It's a good point. But to understand what it means to be in Christ, it is necessary to understand what it means to be in Adam. And, at least to me, that would have to go back to Genesis to understand.

The main thing is, how does one get "in Christ" according to scripture? Once that's understood, the rest is easy to understand, and that's by being baptized into Christ: no other way according to scripture.
