We are told to WATCH so we are watching and waiting for a main event to let us know we are the generation who would see all the end times events. Namely we should look for a ten kingdomed global government as seen in Rev 13. An AC type figure will be the leader of that empire and will perform various miracles to deceive people. I looked and those aren't here yet for Today (Thursday). Maybe tomorrow, or in the weeks or months following.
It just means those who serve Christ, and that would be Christians.
Obviously it was said to the disciples to inform them that they would be gathered in the resurrection together with the gentiles as one fold under his care.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd. John 10:16
ME (and you if you're Born Again).
For when He returns. timing not precisely known. Chances are that I'll watch it all from the OTHER SIDE of the grass, unless He hurries!!!

You can not just tale and apply any part of The Scripture to yourself when It is addressed to Isreal, for example. To do that is to falsely use what was for Isreal and put It into Today!
Why was the apostle Paul sent to The Gentiles after Jesus came to Isreal? What is the difference between the Kingdom of Heaven doctrine, and The Kingdom Of God doctrine? Which One was for Who, When?
Which One did Pual teach? To whom did he teach It?
This is how so much of The Bible scripture gets to mixed up; by ignoring these questions.

It was not a literal term. It still exists today. It just means those who serve Jesus.
