It's understandable that when you're a teenager, you'd be curious about secular parties.
That's what you're talking about, right?
You remind me of an important point, because many churches have
youth groups and other activities for the youth to participate in.
So socializing does not need to be with those outside the church.
Activities can be geared that are for a person's growth and not detriment.

I am a teenage christian and so Ive started being invited to go to parties with one coming up. Inside, I kinda want to go but i always say no, but I dont know if its for the right reasons. I dont know if I do it because I shouldnt be focused on that, or because I am afraid of punishment from my parents. Is going to parties even sinful? Should I go to this one and try it out? Im just torn and would really appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance.
you say you are a Christian. are you a born again Christian? because that's what Jesus taught, to be a born again Christian. every time you are invited to a party, ask what kind & if there will drug use & alcoholic drinking there. if there will be, you aren't missing out on anything. in fact, you are gaining by not attending these kinds of parties. there is such a thing as a Christian party which is food, non alcoholic drinking, Bible talk, games, testimony sharing, even a time for a single person to meet someone, etc.

Hello and God bless, first, if going would place you in the hot seat with Mom or Dad or both, you should stay home and not go. Knowing that your parents would say no and you KNOW that they are against it, respect and honor you parents decision. Spend time doing something more productive during that time. Scripture says not to be envious of those who are sinning. I say this not because they are sinning[ they may have permission to have the party], but what sort of atmosphere would be present? What sort of music? Will drugs and/or alcohol be present there? Overall, I would advise you not to go. Stay home, spend time in the Word and do some studying, watch a Christian movie, or something that is more productive with your time. Do you know what your career goal is yet? If so, why not read up on literature on the subject? Do something that adds value towards your future is all I am saying.

all amazing advice, awesome.
(Am aware I didn't ask the qestion ;)

go live your life. but tell your family they should trust you. being a person of faith and loving the lord doesn't mean we have to avoid the good things in life. just be on your guard and avoid the things that are not bringing glory to God at these parties..

I would say avoid all non christian events, if you are old enough and desire to meet men then make sure they are christian and attending church on an ongoing basis.
If you are in a good church then put a group together to discuss this, organize your own events.
Nothing good comes from clubs bars or meet ups of any kind with non Christians at your age, you will be flattered by people who just want sex, its what most of them are there for.

Stick to christian groups, organize days out, walks, fishing, riding atv's, charity work, clean up the old man or woman's home who no longer can, organize music evenings, get together for evening lunches, bring non Christians into the mix showing them what they would not otherwise see, where you are in a safe place amongst other Christians.

Unlikely God will be high on the agenda at non christian partys.
Avoid them, they will bring you no joy. Satanic music drugs drinking and smoking,
is that what you want.

I think most parties have drugs alcohol and wild sex, if I were you I would avoid, instead plan a small manageable party at home with known friends, ask your parents, music a bit of snacks and board games are a good call. you do not have to go to these wild parties.

Blessings.
Excellent advise. The sad truth is the world is full of immorality and one
should avoid it at every opportunity.

Whenever I found myself asking that, it was sinful. Here's a good rule from Romans 13 to apply when you are invited.

" 13Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."

Making provisions for the flesh, I think of it as putting myself in a place or circumstance where I'm likely to be tempted.

On the other hand, A church can have a wholesome party .
I attended many with no regrets.
However, I attended parties with older friends when I was very young. I was surprised at first what I was exposed to... nothing good. When you don't know, it's best to err on the side of politely turning down the invitation. It will save you much regret and grief.
Just some friendly advice from an older friend who's been there.

Nothing wrong with birthday day party. As converted Christian, we must stay undefiled from the world. 1 Peter chapter 4 . As a result, they do not live the rest of thier earthly lives for humane desire, but rather the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkards, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in thier reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.
Brother, Christian people can't be friends with the world. Walking in the flesh is in opposition to the Spirit. Christian people are to be led by the Spirit. We can't walk on both sides of the fence. You either walk in the light or walk in darkness. Those who walk in the flesh are disobedience to God. Those who are led by the Spirit, are in obiedence to God. James chapter 4
Ye adulterers, and adultereresss, know ye not that friendship of the world is enimty with God ? Who so ever therefore will be friends of the world is the enemy of God. This group is in rebellion against God. Won't repent and turn there backs on God. Christian people repent, study sound doctrine, and achieve spiritual growth. Its faith and obiedence to God. Christian people will suffer little persecution or verbal abuse from outsiders.
Galatians chapter 5:5. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of Righteousness by faith. This is the ticket my friend. Be led by the Spirit, and submit to God's will. Obiedence.
5:7. Ye did run well, who did himder you that ye should not obey the truth. ? Traditions of men is in opposition to sound doctrine. It might sound right or feel right, traditions of men is contrary to God's Truth. 5:16 . This i say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
5:17
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary the one to the other so they can't do the things that ye would do. Those walking in the flesh are in darkness, they are carnal minded. They are disobedience to God. Those who are led by the Spirit, they do will of God, they are children of light. Friends or family don't understand spiritual things or discernment. Only spiritual Christian can understand. Carnal minded people are ignorant and don't have spiritual discernment. They don't know any better. As new Christian, stay focused on Jesus and study sound doctrine, and repent daily.
I hope this helps you. Peace.

2Ti 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Not succumbing to youthful lusts is better and easier than trying to be liberated from them later on in life. Take it from somebody who knows.

It depends on a few things, first of all is the person hosting the party a christian? second do you know the people well enough to know what is going to go on there? third do you know if the parents are going to be home chaperoning?
What kind of party is it? is it a birthday party or a wild lets party because no one is home party? It doesn't hurt to ask questions, if your not sure if it is a good idea to go or not than not going is the right thing to do, remember the saying it is better to be safe than sorry. In fact it might be a good idea to talk to your parents about it.

God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
