Boy are you ever nit-picking. "As I have loved you" is the same thing as I love you. Unless you think something has caused Him to stop. Do you?

John 13:34
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
John 15:12 "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."

Once again please quote where Jesus said he loves you.

I can't find a verse where he said that.

I'm not saying he does not.

Night night brothers and sisters.

I'm on a long weekend break.

Gonna be 50 on Monday.

Just going to sit back and try to relax about, whilst my wife and kids want to make something of it.

God bless you all.

In thank you the your thoughts and responses on this thread.

Flipping heck it's 11pm.

No wander I'm wilting.

And there was me thinking it was my age

just a comment on a line in a post...Jesus did not say the beloved disciple...nor did
anyone else...the only that said it and it was five or six times is the disciple himself...
not to boast in my view but to show that his love of God was a deeply internal part
of his daily life.

other than that the thread is a non sequitur.

Imagine, God's word says that God is Love. Love is the nature of God. It is who He is. He is loving. As a good tree bears good fruit, so God loves because He is Love. Likewise, for us to love others we express this love in our actions.

Well said bro.

Sir, JESUS is LOVE. So there is no need for you to see the exact words "I love you" from HIM because HE is LOVE. HE does all things in LOVE. Everything HE does was showing and telling us that HE LOVES us.

I love a good salad.

Why would you make the salad I love?

Would I need to hear to the words "I love you so I'm gonna make you a salad?

In this world today the word LOVE has been torn apart.
People need to hear the word in order to be loved. Yet action does not follow through.

It's all about emotions.

Love is not a feeling it's not words but an act of our will.

I don't know about love being an act of the will...that seems to me to be saying that love is a decision. That I decide to love and so I love. But I don't think that's why I love. I think I love because He is in me causing me to love.

I do think you're right people go on emotions to know if someone loves...when they saw Jesus show emotion and cry, they said: look how much He loved Lazarus!

I actually think what you said here is kind of the point bill was trying to make. :)

I have gotten your point about love being shown. Talk is cheap. You have to walk the talk. I got it. I understand your point.

However, you need to give up the portion of it (in my opinion) where you say Jesus never said I love you because He did: love one another as I have loved you. To say I have loved you is to say I love you.
