You have been severely misinformed. "Apologetics" does NOT come from the word "apologize." It's from the Greek word "apologia" which means "speaking in defense." The biblical authority for apologetics is plainly stated in 1 Peter 3:15:

" But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,"

We are expressly told to be prepared to give a reason for the faith we have, which is exactly what apologetics does.
Sincce you support it...please inform when the...apologetics......concept was introduced into the Christian dialogue?.......I would bet...if I were a betting type......it has happened since the 1960's......?

Anyone?

Proper witnessing for Christ is complete and fine.
Wait, so other people’s ignorance about a word should limit the express command I have to prepare an argument in defense of my faith?

Yeah, I’ll pass on that rule. And I doubt you apply it to any other area of your life. Just say the real reason you don’t like apologetics.
Forget about general discourse.......show me in scriptures where we are to apologize for God's word?

For the record...I make note of the fact that you are not responding to the date this ...apologetics....(your word)...... concept was originated and adopted by the new age religion group. Did I miss that..or do you not plan to respond to various points?

Further why isn't ...witnessing for Christ...sufficient? Do you plan to respond to that point as well?.

Since you support this malarky.... you should defend it.

May I suggest you go out next Sunday in your community and perform work associated with a sick animal instead of being at your local church and listen to the comments mon and tue regarding your commitment to keep Sunday Holy...all the while God says if a donkey is in the mire get him out...on Sunday.. Get the point? Shouldn't those folks apply God's allowance of your activity and not respond negatively?...you bet...but, it will happen.

We are not to do or say things that can be a negative...or the appearance thereof... to our support of God's word. We must keep.....ignorance in mind when we are representing God's word....He will hold us responsible for miss handling our knowledge over other's ignorance.

All of this has been answered, you just don’t like the answers. Troll elsewhere

apologetics?

"defending the faith ".

It seems today it is not so much about that.

When defending the faith Christ must be Paramount. Truth must be the reason.

Apologetics to many means debate, it is not. IT is defending the faith through the truth. IF that truth is anything other than that of the Lord Jesus Christ or built from something else other than Christ and the word of God, it is to be rejected.

Not debated. "A fool has said in his heart there is no God". We do not debate against a fool, we avoid them and leave them to their own destruction. We pray, study, and witness The Lord Jesus Christ from what HE has done for you and what he said in the word of God.

Apologetics is not, "did Adam have a belly button", the Nephilim were angels who slept with women, or the Red Sea crossing was a very lower tied.

Defending the faith is without wavering Christ is Supreme HE is the only way, the only truth, and the only life, apart from being separated from, and not in addition to what man thinks is another way, another truth, or another life.

Jesus is Lord.

Not budda, or Confucius. Seating in a transmediation position staring at your third eyeball to achieve nirvana and denying that you even exist will not save your soul or life. The Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY answer. Islam doesn't do it, community sharing doesn't do it, Only Jesus Christ.

NOW you want a lesson in Apologetics?

Tell the world Jesus Christ is the only way to God and no other way will work. Then be ready to defend that statement with your life if need be. You do that, you have learned apologetics.

Don't weaken or compromise on the Lord Jesus Christ or his word, don't make excuses for homosexuality by perverting the love of God to accept sin. Don't think God is a Republican and know he would never be a democrat. It is not about the Jackass or Elephant it is The Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

arguing with other professing Christians is not defending the faith though many think it is. Ask a Christian in China, Russia, or a Muslim-controlled county. They will tell you and show you defending the faith is.

I've been waiting to see what you would say. :)
Actually not one question I asked has been answered. But, that's the way of the reformed. They are cowards and very ignorant.
But, that's just the way it is.

Since you support this [...].... you should defend it.
This is the biblical word for what is related to your word ^ (in bold):

"G627 - ἀπολογίαν apologian [/ apologia] - a defense" [noun] ... as used in this verse:

-- https://biblehub.com/text/1_peter/3-15.htm [see that Greek word here]

[but you already scolded him for doing such (and encouraging others to do such as well), but now you are saying for him TO DO IT [your VERB form of the word], lol--make up your mind :D ]

Believe me I know that word and many others. I have a PhD in Greek and the bible. I teach it. That's not what I said.
I said no one answered my simple questions, and they are simple. When a person is so invested in their ideology over truth
it is nearly impossible to change their mind. I have been doing this for over 55 years. It's no secret to me.

Here is a DIFFERENT Greek word... but notice how it is translated into the kjv (that, if someone didn't know better, might think it as a NEGATIVE thing Paul was doing here... It's NOT):

Acts 19:8 -

Berean Study Bible
Then Paul went into the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.

Berean Literal Bible
And having entered into the synagogue, he was speaking boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them concerning the kingdom of God.

King James Bible
And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

[other translations have it as "arguing"... but to "argue" a point is not necessarily A NEGATIVE]

OK, sorry about that. I have, as Paul wrote, great sorrow for that. ὀδύνη odunē, grief (as dejecting): - sorrow
Thanks for the head's up. :-( I'm not used to the format here. I will be careful in the future after I beat
myself over the head with a blunt object.

The questions were quite simple. I was told there were no acts, works needed to be saved. I asked what Jesus meant when He said, "If you love me keep my commands". Was that wrong? There were others but mostly trying to find where this person lived regarding that which will judge us. Such as; 2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

I try not to get too invested in these forums...too stressful. God can miraculously tell you something, you repeat it, and you hear 50 different reasons why you're wrong, and you end wishing you had said nothing.
