I used to do the same thing. But though I did cut, I was more addicted to the pain of hunger.
I think that one thing you can do is busy yourself with other things. I began to become absorbed in art and school and suddenly I was too busy to be worried/ depressed about myself all of the time. I think another thing that helped was God. He restored my self esteem and made me not want to damage what He created anymore. It's important to remember that your body doesn't belong to you anyway. I guess thats just one point of view that helped me along.
