seems something interesting to know more about after I heard it helpful for body aches, numbness, etc, but I haven't had the chance. anyone can post who knows about this, or who has tried...

Never tried it

but I have walked on the beeches of Newburgh (near Abderdeen), Scotland in sprintime, with summer temperatures.
Ended up lying down in the deep, soft, warm sand and almost fell asleep. Felt wonderful, so if the idea is that the sand is heated and you lie about in it it sounds sensible. If they just drizzle it over you it sounds like most other alternative stuff: Exaggerated

i've been sandblasted. felt nice.

i've also lain on the beach.
also felt nice.

i think that's practiced at every beach, everywhere, with varying results haha

The trouble is not everyone has access, or i mean has a nearby beach to go to. Still ive heard of a bucket of sand (from the hardware-) being heated to soak arthritic hands and be relieved.

Hmmmm

there are .... eh .... thingies.... that you can buy or make .... meant for sore muscles, but might work for that too:

find some cloth
fill it with rice or peas (DRY) ( or try sand, but I don't know if you can keep it from leaking out)
stitch it shut

heat it in the microwave oven (I assume size affects how long and how high heat, the long "socks" to have on your neck and shoulders tend to say 2-3 mins at 900Watts )

On the sand at the beach; some of it may be because of the negative ions if that person is on the sand near the water, and also the earthing effect.
