Hope in Coronavirus comes from the scripture "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you, ..." James 4:8 (KJV)

Coronavirus is no greater than any other affliction known to man (in God's eyes). Plus, because it has not reached all areas yet, we still have a window of opportunity to choose how to prepare, choose where to put our faith, and also to choose how close to God we would like be as it passes by.

If anyone wants to have God closer, I'm fairly certain God is all for that. When Jesus wept over Jerusalem, he said "If thou hadst known...at least in this, thy day..." Meaning they didn't have to have lived a perfect life all the way through. Only one day of finding out what God had available for them would have made a huge difference.

I'm fairly certain some (many?) on here will suggest some negative reason for this posting. That's their business. But if you really want God to be near you as this wave passes over, there is hope and you are encouraged to seek God to find out what he's willing to do for those who diligently seek him.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

It will be everywhere very soon. There are already over 1,000 confirmed cases in the U.S.A. as well as many other countries..

It’s just the seasonal flu, the danger isn’t the flu but what the powers that be are doing with it.

All public events being shut down... what’s next, quarantined to our homes over a flu that comes around every year.

This Coronavirus thing hasn’t scared me at all until now. I don’t know how far this will go.

Not the virus, but the foolish reactions to it.

I think the reaction is part of the plan, the virus is just the catalyst.

My question is far are they going to take this. Events are being postponed or cancelled, revenue is being lost.

Is this just the start, are more businesses going to start closing and if so for how long? Economically, how much of this can we take.

It has gone farther than I thought it would. It seems like this is more than just the typical ‘fear mongering” of the past.

The reaction is definitely part of the plan.

I was out at the stores yesterday.... it was mayhem ... food flying off the shelves this happened with an hour of the Premier stating that the schools would be closed for two more weeks following spring break.

This flu is dangerous because it is novel which means we have not inherited any natural antibodies from our ancestors, so the body must recognize it as an pathogen and then get hard at work to fight... for those with weaker immune systems it is more of a challenge.. leading to secondary infections.

As well, being a novel virus makes for a lot of unknowns, then there is always the worry it could mutate and become more virulent.

I think government has to act, however, they need to be sure not set off panic reactions and so far they have not been good at that.

The stock market plunging is an over reaction ... even during the worst of the Spanish flu the stock market was unaffected.

So is there a secondary motive here for all this commotion, I think so.

Also remember...

Pandemic means sustained and continuous transmission of the disease, at the same time in more than three different geographical regions.

Pandemic does not refer to the death rate of a virus but to its transmissibility across the world.

.....The disease causes no symptoms or is mild in 81% of cases. Of course, in 14% it can cause severe pneumonia and in 5% it can become critical or even fatal. It is still unclear what the death rate may be, because there are so many factors... for certain I would not state that Italy has a premier health care system far from it.

Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. That’s my life verse all day, everyday.

Same here. My son goes to Purdue and they’re having them do online classes until further notice.

People need to trust God and ignore all this fear mongering, that’s the dangerous part of the virus.

It just reminds me how easily people can be scared. I believe Satan will use a scare tactic like this one to come into power and be a type of deliverer.

If the numbers being reported are are anything close to accurate then this isn't the typical flu of the past either.

And I'm not advocating irrational(unhelpful) fear.

There are two kinds of reaction to challenging information.

One kind drive us to take counsel of God, as if there's something to be done and he has something to offer.

The other pressures us to focus on the problem...not to find a solution... but to look toward the worst possible outcomes...to overcome faith with fear.

One is godly, the other ungodly. One helpful, the other unhelpful.

I simply recommend choosing godly and helpful reactions.

It has to be bad enough to make people react for a underlying agenda... but I agree.

This is definitely ramped up the like of which is unprecedented.
I believe there is some serious evil and political power behind this.

How about the opposite idea...that there may be a strong a political movement to suppress the truth of the situation to avoid panic.

I'm actually hesitant to share what the math seems to be saying, because I'm guessing that many people here aren't as ready to face challenges as what they claim to be.

But on the other hand, I think God wants to show that he is indeed God...even to as many of those (who currently fear) as he can reach.

And by "challenges" I mean something that can actually kill them, not just some untruth meant to scare them.

I think among those professing to be God's children, it's the fear of what could actually kill them that scares them more than the possibility of it being a lie.
