I am not quite sure about my faith yet but I am trying. While reading about bible and Jesus I asked myself, how do I even pray? I am not sure if I have the right state of mind for that, or if there is a right state of mind. How do you do it? How do you feel before and during the pray? I really want to try.
Heard the other day this preacher said someone asked him to pray for them to have more faith. He said no.. I can't. Haha.. well God word says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD. That's what you do.

Me.. I learned praying alone or for someone I always repent make sure there is nothing in my life that comes between me and Him and I have to mean it with my heart. See I read His word.. maybe worship.. pray.. wait on Him and at first haha man your mind goes every where. Remember who your talking to. He knows your heart so just be you. There more you keep pressing in. Read His word.. Hes real. Delight your self in the lord and He will bring it to pass. Commit your way to Him trust Him HE will do it.

I say that because you desire to know more about prayer. NT He said if we know He hears us then we know we have the petitions we asked for. So know not guess not wonder not by how you feel know He heard you and leave it with Him. He is going to show you. I was 15-16 alone in the house and I was praying said Jesus show me what I have to do to be more like you.

In this bible study I was going to we were praising the lord and the grand mother who prayed 4 hours a day stopped said "danny I don't know what this means but the lord said I will show you". That kind a thing seems and is WONDERFUL yet does not happen every day.

Faith comes by His word. We walk by faith we live by faith. He said it.. He will do it. Tell Him all this.. know He hears you.. we go by feelings so much and we should not. Hold on.. its going to be wonderful

Sorry, what does "not a goat from the left" mean? English is not my native language. Thank you for all your advices! :)
He thinks anyone who does not agree with his political views is going to hell.

A goat is not a sheep, and only the sheep are saved. Left and right are political leanings.

The Lord gave us a Prayer to say every day that basically says this:

Our Father
Who art in Heaven
Hallowed be Your Name
Let Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread [spiritually and physically]
Forgive us of our sins
As we forgive those who have sinned against us
Lead us not into temptation
Deliver us from Evil
For Thine Kingdom is the Glory and Honor forever and ever
Amen

Now I use my own words and have made this Prayer more personal to myself so it doesn't sound like some recital I do every day.

I also pray like this beginning with:

Father, IN THE NAME OF YESHUA [Jesus]...
(I give God some form of worship like telling Him how good He is to or how wonderful He is)
(And then if I am praying for something to be healed or a need or praying for a miracle or job [whatever it may be] I mention it)
And I always thank Him and end with Amen.

But in time you will figure it out as you understand for yourself how great God is and has been to you in your own personal life.
Thank you, I like the idea of a personal prayer. But for beginners the"Our Father" should be right. It's a common prayer in Germany, too. It's called the "Vater unser" here.

Thank you, for sharing your experience. The personal stories of the people here are helping me a lot to understand faith, so far more than the most psalms and bible verses do (even tho I know that they are important too). I understand now, that the connection to god is something very personal.

I think it's good to remember He REALLY does hear you and also knows what you mean even if your words aren't perfect. He loves you and knows why you feel how you do, what you really need, and He WANTS to hear from you even if you aren't certain exactly "how to pray".
He desires to have a relationship with you and for you to conform to His ways, because ultimately He wants whats best for you in all things.
He is righteous yes, but He is a loving Father that is filled with grace and mercy.
I think our state of mind should be a willingness to put down what He doesn't want in is or pick up what He wants for us. A desire for His will and guidance.
An open and honest and earnest talk knowing He knows us even better than we know ourselves.
It is ok if you pray different than others and if you ever pray with others remember that it is still between you and the Lord and do not be embarrassed, He loves when we come together in prayer.

Like bread and butter or romantic love and spiritual marriage, prayer and learning GW go together.
Pray for God’s will to be done. Knowing God’s will is necessary in order for us to pray more specifically than “Thy will be done”.

Much of God’s will is prescriptive or stated in clear moral teachings such as the Ten Commandments (Exo. 20:1-17, Matt. 19:17-21,
Gal. 5:22-23). We may not know how to pray, but we can “live up to what we have already attained” (Phil. 3:16).

That we pray is more important to God than our wording (Eph. 6:18a, 1Thes. 5:17, Rom. 8:26-27). Not praying would be like giving God “the silent treatment”.

Invaded? Muslims?
Yes, like much of western Europe including France and England.
Sadly, although Europe staved off the first Muslim invasion in the Middle Ages,
it appears to be in danger of being conquered in this age.

Here is the history from our website:

In 610, Mohammed had a vision on Mt. Hira, then fled from Mecca to Medina in 622 (the first year of the Muslim calendar), where he dictated the Qu’ran. In 614-619, Persia conquered Damascus, Jerusalem and Egypt. About this time in China, porcelain was produced, orchestras were formed and exams used scientific textbooks. In 628, Mohammed began Islam’s expansion via forced conversion by capturing Mecca, where he taught five “pillars”: faith, prayer, alms, fasting and pilgrimage. He stressed the oneness of God and claimed to be God’s last and greatest prophet before he died in 632 (the year Buddhism became the state religion in Tibet).

From Islam to Protestantism

In 634, the Muslim caliph Omar I took Syria and Egypt and defeated BE forces. He made Damascus the capital of his caliphate in 635. In 641, Omar captured Persia and suppressed Zoroasterianism, which taught that humans should exercise volition to have good thoughts, words and deeds, thereby participating with the god Ahura Mazda in a cosmic struggle against chaos and falsehood. Omar also closed the library and school in Alexandria. In 643, the Muslims took Tripoli and built the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. They took Cyprus in 649. In 660, the Omayyad dynasty took over the Caliphate and expanded to the Indus River by 674, while RC Christendom “fiddled” with the Monothelitism controversy (622-680), which debated whether Christ Jesus had one (human) or two (also divine) wills. The Muslims took Armenia in 694 and Algiers in 700, then Spain in 711-716. During this time the population of China was “exploding”, and Ch’ang-an (capitol of the Han, Sui and Tang dynasties near present-day Xi’an) became the largest city in the world, followed by Constantinople.

In 715, the Muslim Empire extended from the Pyrenees to China, and in 717 tax exemption was granted to all believers. However, Charles Martel of France decisively defeated them in 732, which halted the Islamic advance from the direction of Spain. At this time Boniface was working to eliminate heathenism northeast of the Rhine River, and the BE was threatened by Bulgarians. In 750, the Abbasids won the Muslim Caliphate and defeated China in the Battle of Samarkind in 751, where the Arabs learned how to make paper. Pepin of France made Lombardy a vassal state and granted land (the Papal State) to the popes. In 763, the Caliphate capitol was moved to Baghdad, where Indian numerals became used.

Praying is simply talking to God. Be humble, remembering that He is all powerful. Be real, because He knows all things. Be confident, because Jesus is your righteousness. Pray in Jesus name because God will hear prayers in the name of Jesus.

God knows everything about us already. He has only 3 answers: Yes, No and Wait. Make sure that you confess any sin before you start. Remember that God loves you enough to send you His Son to die in your place. And Jesus loves enough to give Himself for you.

My first prayer was when I was 12. I did not believe then. God answered my prayer. I was shocked and afraid. That's how gracious God is. I tried to dismiss it as coincidence. It was another 9 years before I received Christ and so was born again. If God would hear a sinner like me, He will listen to anyone who calls upon Him.

Everyone is a bit different I imagine , so u r going to get lots of different answers , here's mine 😁 : b somewhere quiet where u won't b disturbed . Close your eyes for a minute or two and try to relax . Remember to whom u r speaking : the God of all Creation , He knows your heart and mind better than u do so always try to b totally honest . Address Him as Dear Heavenly Father or something similar . Say thank you for all , and I mean all , the things that u r grateful to Him for , this can take a while 😁 . If u want to ask something from Him then do so , through the name of Jesus Christ your Sinless High Priest in Heaven . Remember to pray for God's Kingdom on earth to come , remember to say : Your will b done and again offer your prayer through the name of Jesus Christ , Amen . That's basically it .
Sometimes I say little prayers in my head as I'm going about my daily business , just briefly and in the same format as I just explained . As u grow closer to God , through Christ , by reading the Bible , u will feel more comfortable and relaxed about it . Just b honest and respectful .

I apologize for only being able to give this 1 ribbon! As we grow and become increasingly conformed to the Image of the Son our lives will "become" prayer.
Jesus only did what He saw the Father do, He only said what He heard the Father say, and was the model for how the Father desires us to live.
