Holiness Or Hell???

Sometime ago, I saw a post which Said: "Holiness or Hell"

Well, that depends on what you mean by "holiness."

When you say Holiness, if you are referring to the Imputed Holiness that comes from God. Then sure, I could see that. Since no one will enter Heaven without the Imputed Righteousness and the Imputed Holiness which comes from Our Lord Jesus Christ. In order to go to Heaven, we MUST be as perfect, as holy and as righteous as Jesus Christ and His word, the Holy Scripture, are. However though, when a preacher mentions holiness and what they are referring to is holy living, then that statement: "Holiness or Hell" is wrong, it is heresy. Because Living Holy is not a salvation issue, but rather, it is an issue of fellowship and the Christian walk.

Every Christian (Child of God) ought to live Holy. Every Christian should obey the King James Holy Bible and grow in sanctification in their life, and yet, sadly there are Christians out there who do not live Holy. Some Christians are backslidden, cold, and are out of fellowship with the Lord, because they are not walking in obedience, and yet, they are still saved. They are still God's children. Holy living will earn you rewards, millennial inheritance, and crowns. But it has no affect on your individual eternal salvation. Eternal Salvation is all up to God and His word. It is not of us.

Furthermore, today, I heard well known street preacher say that "If you are committing sin, then you are not saved, you are not born again."

Well there is a problem with that state of his.

1) All people commit sin, both saved and lost.

And

2) No one is without sin. No one is sinlessly perfect.

This street preacher quoted 1 John 3:8-9, not understanding what the apostle John was saying in the text. The apostle John was not teaching sinless perfection in his general epistle. He was simply teaching us the contrast between our Two Births (The Fleshly birth and the Spiritual birth). Our flesh birth (The OLD Man) is the one that sins since it is born of Adam 1 John 3:8, and our Spiritual Birth (The NEW Man) is the One that does not sin and it cannot Sin, since it is born of God and the Scripture (word of God) 1 John 3:9, 1 Pet. 1:23.

Then this same Street preacher quotes: "If you are committing sin, you are not a servant of Jesus Christ, you are a servant of sin."

Well there is truth in this statement, at any given time whenever a person is sinning, whether it is a lost sinner or a saved, born again Christian, that person is a servant to sin. And ALL Christians still sin. All Christians still commit sin, in thought, word and deed. This is why 1 John 1:9 is in the Bible. We must confess our sins, to get back in right fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

Another statement this street preacher made: "If you are still sinning, you are not saved. And if you are not delivered from the power of sin, you are not going to be forgiven for the penalty of sin." Once again, this preacher lacks understanding of the three phases of salvation from Sin. The first phase is past tense, Salvation from the Penalty of Sin. This happens at the very moment of Salvation, and it is a one time event. Then the Salvation from the Power of Sin, this occurs in the present time of life. Which means it is an on going process and it only occurs as you walk in the Spirit.

Therefore if a Christian is not walking in the Spirit, then they are not going to be saved from the power of sin in their life. And then the final phase of Salvation from Sin is in the future, which is Salvation from the Presence of Sin. This will happen at the Rapture (Resurrection), the Translation of the Church and/or during the time of your death, and your transition to be present with the Lord.

In conclusion, do not be deceived by the proud, self righteous, preachers out there trying to get you to doubt your salvation just because you have a certain sinful struggle. For Holy Living is not what saves you eternally. Let me repeat that. Living Holy is not what saves you eternally, but rather it strengthens Christian fellowship with God.

And We all will battle with the flesh, and this battle will continue until the time of the Rapture and/or until the day of our death. Once again, All Christians still Sin. Anyone that says otherwise, lacks understanding and is deceived. And as mentioned afore already, living holy is an issue of Christian Living and Fellowship. It is not a Salvation Issue.

Apart from your attachment to the KJV, I heartily agree with you. Was Paul saved when he was going through the Romans 7 battle? He was. He cared about his sinful state. Unbelievers do not and that includes the Pharisee.

Gideon300, yes, Paul was a saved man. Paul was describing his experience as a saved man (i.e. Post conversion). All Christians have this battle within them.
