Seriously I like celebrating Christmas, Easter, I don't know about valentine because I'm single. I can eat candy during Halloween but I can never celebrate it. What does it mean to celebrate the death? They are death and are either in heaven or hell. No need to celebrate them. However we can hold on to the memories we had with them.
When I was a kid Halloween was a thrill. It was exciting precisely because we did not get candy all year round. This was our big chance to rack up.

Halloween has lost its edge because these days kids can get their own candy. Why should they care about even more candy on one day a year?

Hello, what is the 5th

It’s when someone exercises their right to not incriminate themselves by keeping their mouths shut when they’re being apprehended, interrogated and etc.

If you’re the perpetrator and has no intention of helping the investigation, then you say, with a smirk, ‘I’ll plead the fifth!”.😂

Growing up, I greatly enjoyed Halloween and it wasn't because of the candy/treats. I enjoyed the spook walks, festivals, costumes, etc. The only time of the year I enjoyed more than Halloween was 4th of July. Those were the two most fun times of the year.

If we were seriously opposed to all things pagan we'd be screwed when it comes to our pagan gods and goddesses names for days of the week on our calendar.😁

Holy-days are what we make them.

Thanksgiving,is obvious.
Christs-mass is too. It's tradition, not Biblical. And it doesn't fall on the Pagan date of Yule.
Easter,is not on the Calendar day of Pagan Ostara.
And Halloween is about candy ,costumes, even for pets, and fun.

Oh I se

Oh I see thank you.
Nope, its pagan. It's tribute to the god of the sun RA - the beginning of the "new" sun or the lowest ebb of the sun's "appearance". Roman's thought that day began on Dec. 25. Of course, it's been recalculated as the winter solstice on the 21 o 22nd. Matter of fact, the celebration was so entrenched with the Greeks and Romans - just about the entire Mediterranean area -that by the time the Catholic church came along, the "compromise" was the decree that Christ's birthday happened on the 25th so everybody could keep their pagan or otherwise traditions. So... probably the most pagan day of the year. Entirely political, really.

Replying to this quote from 2019 feels Bizzare.

Dear I don't agree, because I have never celebrated people's imagination or some gods. I celebrate only Christ. The fact that their feast falls on same day as mine does not make mine Pagan. I have decided to celebrate Christ in a special way on the 25th of December.

The fifth amendment doesn’t apply to a thread like this. If you’re making a comment here you will have to talk.😂
Actually the 5th Amendment is a constitutional right not to testify against yourself or incriminate yourself.
Fifth Amendment

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Halloween was my favorite holiday. Go out with my brother just before sunset and come home around midnight. No adult supervision whatsoever, and that was true for the hundreds of other kids. This was in a suburb of Detroit. Houses set really close together, could hit 50 or 60 on just one short street. Had an absolute blast. Yeah, this was most definitely our big chance to rack up.

And remember, do not sign sny paperwork the authorities give you. None! Even if they take your personal property. They may say,you have to sogn the property receipt.

No,you don't! They took it. It's their responsibility to keep the record so to return it to you.

Nothing on your person at the time of arrest is wirth spending time in a cell for.

Don't EVER sign any of their paperwork!
Even if they threaten you, refuse!Sign nothing!

Your attorney will love that a lot!:giggle:

Has anyone asked themselves what we are supposed to celebrate???
I have an idea.
Most people have forgotten that the old testament and new testament are one and the same.
The first five books in the bible teach the creation history the separation of God and His people the instructions they should follow and lastly the arrival to the promise land.
We seem to have a big problem facing all churches we are biblically illiterate we dont know why we believe why the state of the world is at it's lowest point in thousands of years we do not understand the depth of the actions by Jesus the parables the instructions their meaning and lastly prophecy.

Well Thanksgiving can stay on the list, the bible says to be thankful in all things for this is the will of God.... Just because the date is pagan in origin doesn't mean you can't give thanks to the true God and Creator of Heaven and earth.

Yes I have heard the Christmas date was chosen by the Catholic Church to replace a pagan holiday, but you get a day off, every thing is closed, why not celebrate the birth of Christ with friends and family, Bible says Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Or Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Use it as a witnessing tool, and celebrate a day off work.

Easter yes it is a pagan holiday of fertility, but that is probably the devils work as it takes place around the time of Passover and the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

That is what Timothy is for "Study to Shew thyself approved unto God a work man who needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. If your not Jewish, you don't need to celebrate Jewish Customs, if your Gentile you only need to follow what is outlined in the new testiment. However honouring or celebrating Jewish customs or holidays are optional.

Funny timing, as I recently broke fast from the Day of Atonement. Has anybody had interest in Leviticus 23? I was impressed to learn that those are God's "appointments" with us. It's made a fascinating study to try to "observe" these for the past several years, but I've learned a lot about Jesus from them. I'm not looking to start the usual fight of grace/faith or faith/law or whatever most of the threads devolve into. It's simply a fascinating study for anyone enjoying their Bibles.
