Hi everyone. I am a believer of roughly 14 years. I am here to seek for help, prayers and perhaps guidance. If someone could point me to the best area of this forum for that purpose I would be grateful.
To get right to the point I got caught up in Christian mysticism and false doctrine. I sought personal experience and revelation from God. What I got was Satan that came to me as an angel of light. I had genuine supernatural “experiences” for a while and nearly went mad in the process. I have been left with confusions and strongholds ever since. My inward spiritual life has greatly declined since then and I have fallen from peace and security I once knew. If anyone could point me to some resources here I would be grateful. Thank you.

"Guard the heart" the significance of this is profound.
Getting caught up in untold "Christian doctrines" coming from
many who bend and twist the "divine readings" to fit their own
self-centered "notions", leaving great confusion and separation.

-Spiritual awakening and enlightenment comes from the heart with
the Holy Spirit guidance which requires discipline and self-control.

-Worldliness is not compatible with a spiritual heart.
This I have learned from over two decades on this spiritual journey.

As far as dealing with ongoing spiritual confusions and strongholds is concerned, the best place for you to begin is with the Bible because, as the Lord Jesus once told a new group of Jewish believers, "If you continue in My word then you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth*, and the truth will set you free" .. see John 8:30-32.

Also, you will want to begin to take all of the thoughts that you believe are sinful, confusing, condemning, etc., "CAPTIVE", at the very moment that you sense them entering your mind .. 2 Corinthians 10:5. IOW, REFUSE to accept and believe them, and then give them over to the Lord to deal with!

I believe that this, the REFUSING/TAKING CAPTIVE of such thoughts is the principal way that we that obey another command from the Lord, and receive the wonderful promise from Him that comes along with it too

7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil ... and he will flee from you.​

This can be hard to do, especially at first, because you'll find that Satan and his demons won't give up without a fight (you will, no doubt, find it necessary to take the same thoughts captive, again and again and again, which can be VERY frustrating), so keep taking all of those dark thoughts "captive" for as long as you need to (while you wait for the Lord to fulfill His promise). Remember too that He is always with you, right in the midst of the fight, protecting you in a very special way .. e.g. 1 Corinthians 10:13).

I'd also like to talk to you about what it means to "treasure" God's word in your heart, and what will happen and why when you do, because I think that this particular Christian spiritual discipline will be particularly helpful in the situation that you've found yourself in (it was for me), but that will have to wait for another post as this one is already too long

Our pastors are the Lord's undershepherds who He assigned to watch over us .. e.g. Hebrews 13:17, and they are typically very good at listening to us and helping us solve our problems, especially spiritual ones

Great I'm sure that the Lord will see you past all of this, though patience is typically required (which is also ok if you think about it, knowing that He is still at work in you, growing you up in Christlikeness from here to Glory, and using it all, the good and what we consider the bad, at least in the moment, to bring about our sanctification .. e.g. Romans 8:28, Hebrews 12:7-11).

Oh, and when I spoke about the need to "treasure" God's word in your heart (in my first post to you), I failed to leave you a short Scripture passage about that, so here it is (other translations use "hidden" or "stored up", etc.). This is one of my favorite little passages in the Bible, because it tells us both what we need to do AND how to do it, as well ).

9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word.​

11 Thy word I have ~treasured/hidden~ in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.​

The same thing happened to me friend, thankfully I saw through it quite fast as the Church i was being lead by had obvious misallighnments regarding Biblical teaching/following.

My Chruch was highly Hyper Charismatic and liberal in theology, woman pastors and the such. Word of faith was taught, personal revelation was a highly sought trait, deliverance ministry was high, speaking in tongues, being slayed in the spirit, holy laughter, loss of self control. Everything you could imagine we had,

Except the gosple, faithful teachings, spiritual leadership, protection, love and sound doctrine.

What helped me is faithful teachings, after being decieved, I couldn't even really read the Bible and properly understand it. I had been brainwashed to believe so many things about the books that just weren't true. This caused me to go from 1-3+ hours a day of reading to around 5 minutes a day. I just had to be sure I was reading in context.

I watched a fair amount of Mike Winger, Leaving the Message, Christ Rosebrough, Melissa Doughtry, but mostly Mike winger.

Oh also Theocast and some Chad bird, regarding law/gosple distinction.

Mike winger gave me a understanding of what it can look like to read the Bible, and now I aspire to read more contextually. It just took a break to figure out what that looks like.

I am not advertising you stop reading, as this was just the process I went through.

I also prayed the whole time, as you can imagine. I asked God to help me understand and to trust him again.

Its hard but you can get back into safety. I see my condition improving. Im not sure what it will take for you, but I know God will get you there.

I was aware of all the nonsense that goes around under the guise of Christianity, but after 10 years in the faith and allot of burn out I started thinking that I was missing something.

I fasted and prayed for 7 days because I wanted communion with God and to seek Him for clarity on doctrinal debates and a voice started talking to me. It started like it was God, but turned very very bad. By the time I realized that something wrong it was too late. I asked my wife to pray for me and my head turned sideways and next thing I knew I was croaking out loud. I drove to my church as fast as I could and met my pastor and he laid hands on me and I did a front flip and landed on my hands and feet and was screaming at the sky and vomiting. Nothing has been the same since.

It’s funny you say that about reading the Bible because I can’t manage to read it anymore either. I can a bit but it isn’t the same

I understand that, you'll be able to read the Bible again as usual one day, im sure of it!

Im glad to see youre doing better, I was also into witch craft before becoming Christian. Ive been a believer for around three years? Ish.

Wanting to be close to God is good, but Turning within for extrabiblical revelation can lead us astray. Im glad you realized that something was wrong

Please pray for God to help you focus uninterrupted by the evil spirits tonight as you listen to the video links I posted for you. I have more short teaching that should cast the damned things out of you.
