1PT 3:15 – “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have”. How? By sharing our biography and our theology gleaned from biblical teachings.

Folks,

bluejean_bible doubted that I am the author of the website
https://truthseekersfellowship.com
that I have stopped referring to as my website and now call it OUR website,
because I want everyone who finds it helpful to feel free to use it as a resource,
copying from it as much as you want without giving me credit.

Although I amended the website with good points that I gleaned from discussions on CC,
I now want to go the second mile and offer to add your comments to it at appropriate places,
but please try to adhere to the parameters I set for myself, including:

1. Append Scripture references to support logical inferences.
2. Attempt to harmonize opposing viewpoints instead of being argumentative.
3. Be pithy (using acronyms in the list), but address questions obviously begged by your comment.

You should probably hyperlink this post and ask someone to assist instructing on putting the link (if possible) or just the info and your website link into the available section under your identifier.

Well, I don't know how to do any of that either,
although I can cook by following step by step directions
in the procedure part below the ingredients section,
because I understand terms such as "add, stir and tsp".

Don't you have a grandchild that can do it for you?

I've never done it, but I'd start by clicking the "G" at the far upper right next to the mail icon > clicking either the Signature link and pasting your Acronyms list into it - or clicking the Account Details link and pasting into the "About me" section.

You can probably also type in your website address and link it using the link button in the menu like the one above in these empty posts. It's pretty intuitive - open your website > copy the address to your clipboard > highlight in the Signature panel the text you want to link > hit the link button & paste into the URL section your copied website address.

If you run around in circles based upon my instructions, bake some cookies and add to your forgiveness experiences.

Looks good. Did you try the Signature panel at all? I'm assuming that's what this is at the bottom of this post.

At least you see perfection as a goal. So many others seem to have written it off as complete nonsense. I listened to a beautiful presentation by an architect once who spoke philosophically of how each project was another advance toward perfection built upon what they had learned and done before. Whatever we reach IMO He values a mentality that says He can take us wherever He wants to take us.

No, I am satisfied with the Profile.

At least Paul saw perfection as the goal (PHP 3:12).

God is the perfect Architect.

Just FYI our discussions have given me the following insight this week that I have put in two places on the website:

Lesson 1 - Jesus said that those who seek salvation will find it, which indicates that God graces every sinful soul with the ability or opportunity to understand how to be saved (MT 7:7, cf. 1TM 2:3-4), which might be called “seeking grace”.

Lesson 2 - This indicates that God graces every sinful soul with the ability or opportunity to seek and understand how to be saved (MT 7:7, cf. 1TM 2:3-4), which might be called “seeking grace“.

Note - "sinful" connotes being old enough and mentally able to be morally accountable.
 
The third unavoidable belief is that reality is meaningful and communicable or able to be discussed rationally in fellowship with other truthseekers, because the element of uncertainty/fallibility does not prevent would-be skeptics from talking as if knowledge with some degree of confidence were possible the moment they attempt to communicate their doubts. An agnostic has “certain” assumptions at least implicitly: that truth is believable, rational and meaningful, even though unprovable or subjective.

As Isaiah 1:18a (c.735 B.C.) says, “Come now, let us reason together.” Perhaps whoever invented language should be regarded as the founder of this fact, because the discussion of reality uses language as the means, and in order to communicate sufficiently for attaining agreement or unity, it is necessary to have a common language and cultural context. I hope that as Earthlings using English these needs are met for you and me, but sometimes I wonder whether folks realize that semantics are part of hermeneutics.

The first example I would cite:

1. Implication/connotation. An example was already mentioned, that expressing an opinion connotes that communication is possible. Another category of examples is what is implied by what is NOT expressed, such as the fact that GW never condemns soldiering, which implies that this occupation is acceptable as long as it does not contradict the command not to murder but rather seeks to prevent such crimes.

Would anyone like to cite some more examples of implication/connotation or perhaps a suggest second type of semantic issue?
 
Here is an example of the need for harmonization or interpreting Scripture with Scripture.

1Pet.1:1-2 addresses God's elect, "chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father",
which might be understood as supporting belief in Calvinism's TULIP dogma unless the reader
also was aware of 2Pet.3:9, which says God is patient, "not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance".

The harmonization?
 
How does every topic on CC relate to Easter?

Hermeneutics can be connected to Easter by citing the following as a template:

The Gospel of Christ is God’s Epistle

Christ is the image of the invisible God,
The firstborn over all creation…
And he is the head of the body, the church…
And the firstborn from among the dead,
So that in everything he might have supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
And through him to reconcile to himself all things…
