Ezekiel 13:9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

There are the unlearned who will read that verse and claim it has nothing to teach Christians. And often they'll claim it is because we are not Jews and it was meant only for them.
When you ever come across a post that states anything of that nature, run!
Because such a one knows nothing at all about our God and Christ.

Jesus is foretold in Old Testament scripture.

Even his ministry is foretold. And not in just the written text there.

God is everywhere. Even in Sheol.

Because all things are of and from God.

Psalm 139
7.Where can I go to escape your Spirit?
Where can I flee to escape your presence?
8 If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there.
If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be.

God knows this thread should be deleted.
Until then ignored.

Luke 16:19-31 portrays Abraham conversing with one of his grandsons over
on the inferno side of the afterlife. I sure hope that's still possible because
I'm pretty sure my mom, two of my brothers, a nephew, an aunt and an
uncle, and a cousin are confined to that place. I would really like to keep in
touch with them as much as possible before they're transferred to the lake
of fire depicted by Rev 20:11-15 where I may never get to speak with them
again.

The thing is: according to Matt 10:28, the ultimate Hell is able to destroy
souls. Well; according to Gen 2:7, the soul is what makes us conscious
beings. If everyone's souls are destroyed, then my family won't even be able
to recognize me let alone speak.

I can't imagine the profound sadness I might experience from looking out
across the lake of fire and observing folks floating around out there like
apples in a bobbing tub realizing that some of them could very possibly be
loved ones.

BTW: Back in December of 2014, I estimated the number of condemned
souls per day to be around 58,581. Well; 10+ years have gone by and now I
would estimate those souls closer to 70,000 because the global population
has increased quite a bit since back then. A pretty good appreciation of

70,000 can be obtained from a drone's view of Burning Man 2024.

John 6:53 . . Truly, Truly, I say to you: unless you eat the flesh of the Son
of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.

The kind of life about which the Son of Man spoke is supernatural.

John 6:54 . . He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life.

Note the grammatical tense of "has eternal life". It's present tense rather
than future, indicating that when people correctly dine upon Jesus' flesh and
blood they obtain eternal life right then and there, no delay and no waiting
period.

* Eternal life and immortality are not the same. The one speaks of a soul
that's immune to death and the other speaks of a body that's immune to
death. Although it's possible to obtain eternal life now, immortality has to
wait until our resurrections. (1Cor 15:51-54)

For example Jesus had eternal life prior to his crucifixion (John 5:26, 1John
1:1-2) but he didn't obtain immortality till after his resurrection (Rom 6:9,
Rev 1:18) And according to John 5:24, the apostles had eternal life too; but
it didn't prevent their demise; they're all gone because eternal life doesn't
prevent one's body from losing its youth.

Now the thing is: eternal life is a very core element of New Testament
Christianity, viz: people who lack it also lack unity with God's son, i.e. they
are literally quite christless.

1John 5:9-13 . .We accept human testimony, but God's testimony carries
more weight because it is the testimony of God, which He has given about
His son. . . . And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and
this life is in His son. Whoever has the Son has the life; whoever who does
not have the life, does not have God's son.

There are well-meaning Christians out and about insisting that no one
obtains eternal life until they cross over to the other side. Beware making
that mistake because when people wait to obtain eternal life when they
cross over, then they spend the remainder of their stay on earth in a
christless spiritual condition. Needless to say: that is very dangerous. (Rom
8:9)

Going My Way?

I've reached the age of 81 and was recently given an end of life speech by
the oncologists who told me, in so many words, that there are no more
viable treatment options for my cancer.

At first I became envious of all the folks out there younger and healthier
than I before remembering none of them get to stay that way.

In other words; they're all headed to the very same place where I am now--
unless something happens to them before the age of 81, they will reach my
point in time and then they too will envy the younger and the healthier than
themselves. Like the olde saying goes: all roads lead to Rome.

Rom 8:26 . . The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what
we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans
that words cannot express.

Intercession in that case can be thought of as assistance with an area of
expertise in which mortal men are amateurs. In other words; it's a silent,
invisible, activity whereby the Spirit moderates our prayers and revises them
as need requires so as to make them acceptable to God's ears.

And there's also God's son.

Rom 8:34 . .Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died? -- more
than that, who was raised to life, is at the right hand of God, and is also
interceding for us?

In that respect: intercession is prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of
another by an advocate.

Those two passages reveal that two of the most powerful influences in
Heaven are kept busy supporting the folks who've entrusted their safety to
Christ's crucifixion-- a remarkable difference between sinners who at one
time were alienated from God and sinners now reconciled with God. And
those two powerful influences are doing what they do without requiring a
fee, i.e. they are not on retainer nor do they charge by the hour nor is theirs
a limited-time offer.

Heb 7:24-25 . .Because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent
priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God
through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

* I was born, baptized, and raised a Roman Catholic. For a long time I was
convinced the Church's hierarchy, along with Jesus' mom, would stand in my
defense when the time came. I had no clue, none at all, that there was a
powerful Heavenly tag team in the wings wanting to do that very thing for
me-- the quality of their association with God far exceeding the power of
Jesus' mom, and the status of every man of the cloth on earth. How does
one even begin to comprehend the magnitude of such a remarkable benefit?

I actually envy YOU! You got to enjoy most of your life and will go home to God soon. I don't envy the young at all = especially with what is about to happen to the world in the very last days.

So run your race to the very end with the Lord. When this is all over and you're clothed with immortality - you'll have vigor and strength again as when you were young!

If this was serious, I cracked up. Reminds me of Modern Dante.

Hell is very real, through its name is not Hell, that comes from goddess of the underworld named Hel. It is Ghenna, and the Lake of Fire which is as flaming place of torture without end (Revelation 20:10, 15).

.
Rom 3:23 . . All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

In my own experience, that statement has been 100% reliable because I
have yet to encounter even one person in all my 81+ years who I felt was
successfully duplicating God's sinless perfection. So then, I've concluded that
God has set the bar so high that nobody can reach it. His own goodness is
the gold standard and, speaking for myself, I can't even come close to
equaling it let alone topping it; and that's not a good thing.

Rom 6:23 . . For the wages of sin is death

Jesus told an interesting parable that just might be apropos in this case. It
goes like this:

"Suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first
sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose
the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will
send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms
of peace." (Luke 14:31-32)

Well, anybody who reads the Bible is fully aware of the supreme being's
capabilities and would much prefer to be at peace with God rather than war
because there is just no possible way to defeat Him; hence the urging:

2Cor 5:20 . .We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were
making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: "Be
reconciled to God."

Matt 22:2-6 . .The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which
made a marriage for his son, and sent forth his servants to call them that
were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

. . Again, he sent forth other servants, saying: Tell them which are bidden,
"Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and
all things are ready: come unto the marriage".

. . But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to
his merchandise: and the remnant took his servants, and entreated them
spitefully, and slew them.

Apparently that king was normally a very benevolent man who could
patiently absorb disrespect and insult after insult without losing his
composure. The folks invited to the wedding were probably accustomed to
taking the king's temperate ways for granted and assumed he would be
passive as usual about their refusal to attend a royal event dedicated to His
son. But their indifference to honoring the king's son, coupled with
assassinating the messengers, was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Matt 22:7 . . But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent
forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

The apostle Paul admitted to being a very serious sinner.

1Tim 1:15 . . Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-- of whom I am the worst.

Well; speaking for myself, were I God, I'd put me on display as a trophy.

The thing is; my life's history includes animal cruelty, arson, theft, illegal
possession of alcohol, tooling around in stolen cars, profanity, vandalism,
assault and battery, dishonesty, truancy, trespassing, an overall lack of
kindness and charity, etc. Folks like me are the very kinds of aggravation
that God tends to shun yet He had me in mind when His son went to the
cross.

I was brought up to believe Jesus was a victim of circumstances beyond his
control. Well; when I was told the real purpose of his crucifixion, it wasn't
long before I went down front in a local church and prayed this simple
prayer:

"God I know I'm a sinner. I would like to take advantage of your son's
death."

That was probably the smartest sixteen words I'd spoken up to that
moment.

Anyway, where once God shunned me, now we're bonded.

John 16:27 . .The Father himself loves you because you have loved me
and have believed that I came from God.

There is a popular belief abroad that when people pass away they transition
to oblivion, viz: they no longer exist as conscious beings. Well; in that
situation of course God wouldn't be their God because there would be no one
there for Him to associate with; they would be gone.

In a nutshell; passages like Matt 22:31-32, Mark 12:26-27, and Luke 20:27-28
informs Bible readers that when people pass away they don't transition to oblivion,
rather, they continue to exist somewhere as conscious beings.

I believe this and I think God expresses it science really well.

The first law of thermodynamics is conservation of energy in that energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be transformed from one form to another or transferred between systems.

When God breathed life into us it was the beginning. When we die, if we belong to God, we will be with Him and the reward at the end is to be with Him and all the blessings that are in Him. On the other hand, if we did not belong to Him, we would be sent to hell which I heard is pretty bad. Both are forever.

Some people don't believe in eternal conscious torment or destruction in hell, but I do. That's what the Bible says.
