Consider that Paul told us to follow his example, assuring us he had given us the full council of GodHell is an important doctrine. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all knowledge. We get saved at first not to go to hell, though I think as we grow to love the Lord we forget that. Hell keeps us saved. The scriptures say hell is worse than crucifixion. If he spared not his own son how much more will he do to those who turn from him. Hell is for spirits. Spirits don't really burn but the rich man in hell said I am in torment in these flames; so it hurts. It made him thirsty. He begged for one drop of water. The Bible says " eternal punishment". It's also mentioned of heaven that it hasn't even entered the heart of man the joy God has prepared for us. So there's definitely no reason to go to hell. Christ death only saves. No works nothing added will save.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.No verse says any such thing. In fact we are explicitly told that the mortal must put on immortality, and that is
attained by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ. All others perish in the second death.

But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. Jer 20:11 (KJV)No verses saying the soul is immortal were given by you. And you call me confused, when I gave Scriptures proving my point.
Sufficient for what? To prove Stephen was saved? Jeepers. Get a grip.
You are seriously trying to tell me the unsaved put on immortality when it is explicitly taught that only
those who believe by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ attain to immortality.
Many ways, in many places. Over and over. From the beginning of Scriptures in Genesis to Revelation.
It is Christianity 101.
But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. Jer 20:11 (KJV)
How can a person be confused if they don't exist?

I hope you are not trying to intimate that those who oppose the ECT doctrineGreat question, and also helps me, on another forum with my Final Scriptures
in a discussion with a kind and courteous opponent whose view is universalism.
Amazing how God Gives us "what we need" at the right time.
That wasn't the question. There was no mention of 'everlasting' in the question.![]()

How can a person be confused if they don't exist?Wait, what? You are not asking about everlasting, saying it was not part
of your question, when that is what the Scripture you posted says?.
Do you have no opinion whatsoever on the number of times
something is said to last forever and yet comes to an end?
I gave a good sampling of them...
I do recognize that many simply turn a blind eye to them.
Perhaps the answer lay in the context the word is given. How can a person be confused if they don't exist?
I didn't ask about remembering. It's their confusion. How can a person be confused if they don't exist?Perhaps the answer lay in the context the word is given.
Who is doing the remembering here? Them, or God?
You seem to think it is them. I do not.
Since their confusion shall never be forgotten by God, in that way it would be everlasting.
How can a person who does not exist be confused?I didn't ask about remembering. It's their confusion. How can a person be confused if they don't exist?
Instead of answering my question, you ask me two of your questions. No sweat. How can a person who does not exist be confused?
Do you deny that the dead know nothing?
And do you proclaim that man is immortal despite the clear teaching of Scripture to the contrary?
You have answered none of mine.Instead of answering my question, you ask me two of your questions. No sweat.

And also until God's purposes have been fulfilled."Forever" has many meanings, one meaning is "until the end of an age" or "until the end of time" or "until the end of that person",
etc. "Forever" is also a reference to time which, in the age to come when the heavens and earth are new, there will be no time.
