A corgi is one of these... I think they are originally Welsh...

Yeah, I love corgis! When my mom gets old, I'm gonna buy her one. ^ω^ They are practically the only breed she would remotely consent to personally owning. They are great family dogs, and plus they are working dogs. Midget working dogs. The best of both worlds!

Yes, it's that, but he also has the "persona" of a cowboy down.. relaxed, don't take any crap off anyone... he knows all the right phrases, and expressions... he just "is" a cowboy.

Others can't pull it off..... Yul Brynner tried to be a cowboy in some movie, and failed miserably..
I actually thought he was good in that one, hahaha

Generally you can tell what a dog will be like when they are pups. Got my dog when he was already 6 months old and it was him or his bigger brother. The brother was stubborn and difficult to walk on a lead and wouldn't look at me., but the dog I picked was sweet and eager to please and kept watching me. I knew he was the one.
:D
But not always. My dog was so lame when she was a puppy. She was 2.5 months old when we got her, and we didn't really even get to see the puppies before we chose due to this and that. But I really could not believe how poorly we had lucked out. She was ugly. Lazy. Not in the least affectionate. And she hated walks. I literally had to drag her on the leash, and that's no fun for rather of us. But she got better and better as she grew older. And she actually got better looking, too. Now she is super smart, great with the family, and loves walks. But seriously, looking back at her puppy pictures I marvel at how ugly she was.

Part of the what plagued The Magnificent Seven was the somewhat shallow story line. They largely copied it from the movie Seven Samurai and the popularity of the Western led to the same story being played out over and over again.

There were some interesting character arcs. Eli Wallach was an awesome villain villain (as he always does). Robert Vaughn's existential dance with death was also pretty cool.

Everybody else came off as flat, but I did like the cut of Brynner's jib.

Fun popcorn movie, but I wouldn't make a remake like they're trying to do now unless it's some Lost-style miniseries with backstory for each character.

Oh great, time for the classic battle between rationalism and empiricism.

No doubt. I've heard that women actually prefer facial hair on a guy because it gives the impression of them being more masculine and virile. As much as they might complain about being tickled when being kissed, they really dig the beards and mustaches.
I actually do, in a lot of cases. But it also depends from man to man. Some guys just aren't capable of growing a decent beard, and I don't always go for the mustache thing. But some men just look better with than without facial hair, and especially as they grow, um, older. (That's not a bad word here, is it?)

Funny how standards like that changed. Socially acceptable/attractive facial hair went the way of the dodo about one hundred years ago and now it's back with a vengeance.

Well now that you mention it, I don't even remember what all the plot was about. All I do remember is Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, and some other random moments.

Facial hair is the man's make up:)

Most of the movie is random moments. Really, I think the subject matter is more suited to a LOST-style television series.

The Magnificent Seven really is a half-done frame story.

I did notice that a lot of High School boys are growing facial hair. Not always to their benefit. I think it looks odd on guys when they are too young most of the time.

Yeah, exactly. If a man's not that great looking to start with, a nicely kept beard does wonders. Like with Hugh Jackman. He was alright without the beard when he was younger, but now I think his scruff needs to make a come back.

Facial hair really didn't work for me until I was 22 or 23.

Same way for most men, I think. It takes a while for it to be acceptably thick. That and lose the baby fat.

It depends on who you're looking at when you say it, kiddo..... lol....

Actually being called old doesn't bother ME in the least. I figure I've earned it... I'm just now starting to learn how to take advantage of being considered "old"....

I haven't shaved my moustache since the day I graduated High School.... I don't think my mom would recognize me without it.

The beard/goatee comes and goes on a whim, but not the 'stache...

Dad usually has both the mustache and the goatee, sometimes just the 'stache, and every now and then he shaves it all off. Personally, I think he looks best with both on, now that he's getting older in his years. I've been trying to get him to experiment with a more beardy type thing, but that's yet to happen.
