There has been a lot of discussion about faith on the forum. Sure, faith is important. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. However, the discussion makes man the centre and not the Lord Jesus.

People rightly say that faith without works is dead. Not everyone knows what that means, but I'll not get sidetracked. I will say this: faith without grace is meaningless. It is grace that saves us. (Ephesians 2:5, 8). If God did not grant us His grace, no one could be saved, no matter how much faith they had.

So what is grace? Usually it is defined as "unmerited favour" or "undeserved favour and mercy." (Amplified). "Grace" is centred in God's love for His creation and His desire to restore us to relationship and fellowship with Himself.

Another way to express grace is "God's Riches At Christ's Expense." I like that. It's easy to remember and reminds us who initiated the great salvation.

"For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God......." Ephesians 2:8

I say just go to the root of it for He would not give us grace if it were not for His love for us. It’s the reason for His grace and faithfulness. It’s also the reason for our trust, obedience, faith, and our love for Him. The one true God who not only loves but is love.

It would seem that grace has additional functions beyond salvation.

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Charity, love in action, is greater than faith.

Love takes priority over faith in what is important for salvation.

Faith work by love.

If there is no love then faith is not working.

No love, then no faith.

Everything stems from love.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

We are saved by grace through faith.

We have to have faith to receive grace.

If we do not have faith then there cannot be grace.

No faith, then no grace.

No love, then no faith, then no grace.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

If a person hates sin, and does not want sin, and allows the Spirit to lead them then they can abstain from sin.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

1Co 13:5 thinketh no evil;

1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

Love does not think an evil thought.

And does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth to abstain from sin by the Spirit.

2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Some people deny the Spirit leading them.

And love sin more than God.

And they do not come to the truth.

Any saint that holds on to sin that is not love.

Then no grace.

A person who says they cannot abstain from sin then they are holding on to sin.

That is not love then no grace.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

If a person holds on to sin then the blood of Christ cannot wash it away.

Millions of people claiming Christianity believing they cannot abstain from sin.

If they say they cannot abstain from sin then they are sinning.

So they do not have grace.

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

If any person teaches godliness is gain withdraw from them for it is not the truth.

Having food and clothing be content.

For the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy.

And love is the fulfilling of the law.

And they have erred from the faith.

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

Millions of people loving money believing the prosperity Gospel.

But that is not love.

Then no grace.

A lot of people think they have grace but they do not.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Paul said without charity he is nothing.

Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

A person is justified by works and not faith alone.

Charity, love in action, works.

1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Charity, love in action, works.

No charity, love in action, works.

Then no faith.

Then no grace.

Personally, I see everyone has Faith. Yet in Faith, there has to be an object that initiates Faith of the result of whatever one has faith in.
So, you say you have Faith, What is your Faith in.

mine is in the done work of Son for me, He took away Sin, and made everyone by his done work as reconciled to God first, forgiven! I am only justified in being forgiven by God first, period for me.
I now exercise this in a personal relationship, between God
Father and Son with me asked in to participate, so is everyone else invited also.
since all sin is now taken care of by Son on that cross first. It is where I approach the throne of grace in confidence with thankfulness, trusting Father to teach me the love and mercy of Son for everyone to stand in belief to it is done for then to love all. John 13:34. No more occupied on whether one sins again or not, why?
Because sin takes occasion through the awareness to not sin, one then tries to not sin and finds themselves in sin over trying not to sin, that is the self effort of flesh in the way. and not see or ever enter by the power of God for them. Thanks love the post Gideon300

Grace is of absolute importance. We have been saved by grace thru faith. God's love is first, then grace then faith without which no man will see the Lord.
Here's the real problem. God said His grace is sufficient for every need. But.... not everybody believes in that all sufficient grace.
Many believe enough to be saved, but that's pretty much it. How many will believe God's grace will make them ministers of His gospel? We all are, you know.
Sadly, many believe in just enough grace to get them across the line, period.
God's grace goes waaaay farther than that! WHATEVER He has destined you to do & be, super abundant Grace is there!!!
What about your sins you still deal with? Where sin abounds Grace will much more abound! The sin you're still dealing with, as well as the sinful circumstances that surround you. The falling away does NOTHING to change that! God will still do what He said, PERIOD!
God can't love you more than He already does, & refuses to love you any less!
How then can God's grace NOT be sufficient?!? For your past, present. & future, NO MATTER how sick you get, weak you feel, how afraid you are of your calling, God's grace is super more than enough!!
Believe in His Grace, for God loves you with an everlasting love!!! As the needs get bigger, sins fight you seemingly to the end, your sickness is spoken of as terminal, NOTHING, I mean NOTHING can seperate you from the love of God IF YOU WANT HIS GRACE!!
The question really is, how bad do you want it?!? Will you commit your life to Christ to receive EVERYTHING He wants to give you?!?

I say just go to the root of it for He would not give us grace if it were not for His love for us. It’s the reason for His grace and faithfulness. It’s also the reason for our trust, obedience, faith, and our love for Him. The one true God who not only loves but is love.

Yes, "us" being humanity; "is love" being omnilove.

Here's the real problem. God said His grace is sufficient for every need. But.... not everybody believes in that all sufficient grace.
Amen !
The question really is, how bad do you want it?!? Will you commit your life to Christ to receive EVERYTHING He wants to give you?!?

Absolutely God is sufficient 2 Cor 12:7-10
Paul lied not, now neither do I either, I have failed in my own dung too
I love it in Phil3, where Paul says I gave up under Law to win Christ Amen to that
