I never forgot The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. Its about the concentration camps. If you already read Diary Of Anne Frank then you need to read Corrie Ten Boom. Although its more her sister that was someone who had great faith.
The other one I read recently was In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park. About escaping North Korea. Although she wasnt a christian in North Korea but when she escaped (because of some kind Christians who helped her) she did become one.

One I read recently was called The Day Heaven Touched Me : The true story of a buddhist Monks daughter by Dr Song Karen Sonn
She's South Korean. I like reading how those who never grew up or raised in church became christians. Although she did go to a Christian school, that never took until Jesus came to her in a vision/dream.

that was a shocking one but I also wondered how back in the 1950s america how very restricted the lives of women were, esp christian women.
Obviously she thought nothing of going to South America with young family and not knowing the language just because her husband went. But she was in two minds about marrying him wasnt she? He had to meet certain conditions or something.
It seemd a lot of christian missionaries were left widows. They were lauded as matryrs
Theres also Keith Green. His wife wrote a memoir about him called No Compromise
Obviously she thought nothing of going to South America with young family and not knowing the language just because her husband went. But she was in two minds about marrying him wasnt she? He had to meet certain conditions or something.

Its a bit dated now but I remember several books caleld Gods Smugglers and also Operation Pearl, it was about smuggling Bibles into China.
Well it must have worked because now most Bibles are actually printed in China. I found one the other day that was a Beginners Bible in both english and Chinese.

I didnt know he was in jail for decades, but not surprised. Although his works are a bit dense for a new christian to read.
Heavenly Man Brother Yun is a good book to read.
I heard Franklin Graham is coming to preach in my town. Billy Grahams son. He wrote several books including Rebel with a Cause. He's like royalty in evangelical circles.
Billy Graham of course wrote several books, I remember reading one of his memoirs, it must have been about 700 pages long. He lived a long life and travelled all over the world, which is what you do if you are an evangelist.
The only thing is theres evangelism, but then theres also discipleship that comes after. Not many stick with the hard work or steep learning curve of discipleship

Shanghai Faithful was pretty amazing and well researched. Jennifer Lins family went back five generations to Shangahi, China and her grandparents brother in law was Watchman Nee.
I couldnt put it down, but also, I have to read it all in one go because its due back at the library tomorrow.
Suffice to say, Chinas christian believers many outnumber the US in a few years time.
