Eph 2 does not say our faith was a gift. it says we were saved as a gift. Salvation is the gift.

Not of works lest any man should boast. Nothing about faith.l thus faith is not a work. Even paul said it must be of faith and not works..

The boasting is when we try to work to earn it. Faith is not a work in which we can earn anything. this is a sad misconception of what true faith is.

It isn't whether God "can do" or "will do" or "how he will do it." What is important, and we see this with the "chosen nation," is whether we are worthy in our heart, irrespective of what we do. Doing good works for example could be put down to having an ulterior motive.

no. you do not know how to read.

for it is by grace we have been saved. this is what the gift of God is, also called eternal life.

then he tells us the means by which we were saved,, By faith.. not by works. lest anyone should boast.

faith is not a work. even Jesus himself said this. stop being afraid of trusting in God and thinking you can take credit for it. you can;t unless you are trying to work to earn it..

"Works" are nothing, mankind's work's add up to nill in God's account.
You must see P.S.; that one person lived the perfect life - (Jesus)
Our reliance on Him is the sign we are in His body, (as He is the head).

We are saved by the grace of God.
Our salvation is not of works lest any man should boast.
Our salvation is through our faith. (The same as Abram and everyone else.)
 
I think it's our election to receive or not the gift God gave for human race
That's why we have free will,otherwise it wouldn't make sense at all to me

I agree our 'works' are as nothing, that is what I was saying.

It is our heartfelt faith that is all-important. Abraham was saved because he believed God. He had faith. (How hard is that to understand?)

The subject is salvation.

The provider of salvation is our gracious God. (By the grace of God)

The raw material (clay to the potter) is our faith, which is like clay to God.

It is our faith that makes us acceptable to God and it is through our faith that God works. (By faith are we saved)

lol why do you make it so difficult.

for by grace we have been saved (subject) through faith (the means of which we received salvation) and that not of yourselves; it (salvation) is the gift of God, [SUP]9 [/SUP]not of works (faith not works) , lest anyone should boast.

faith and works are what is apposed here. If faith was the subject. then you have works standing on its own, the the compair form of the sentence is destroyed.

Paul is staiting a fact. we were saved by faith not works.

Eph 1: 13 - 14 goes with this..

After hearing and believing we were saved
 
Cannot you see E.G. that the Apostle writing as given him by the inspiration of God Himself wouldn't be telling
those affected by His grace to boast in it? - - - - (Unmerited favor)
It is easily clear that the Apostle is referencing their "faith" - (the only thing they could 'hold' within themselves).
The reference is obvious! - (Unless you think the faith you have is your own) - Most proud.

I make it difficult because I know the grace of God was shown on my "hearing" ears.
(Sometimes when they didn't even hear.)
Jesus has it in all.
Like Moses, and Jonah, and sometimes Abram I didn't hear; but He still called.
- - - -With His munificent election (freewill).
I know better E.G.; I've lived through it. The grace is His even to our believing. (I've experienced it)

(Even Judas Iscariot returned the 30 pieces of silver) - They wouldn't so much as touch the "blood money".
- - - The end of the story goes he hanged himself and the limb broke, and his guts were smashed on rocks.
The field where his dead body bashed was called Aceldama-(field of blood)_ Acts 1:18-19.

I hope you are right when you say everyone who denies God repents, but I still have my concerns when I read that those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
 
But I think you know Him P.S.; just by your posts.
Not that I'm your judge, neither am I E.G.'s, or Abiding's.
But I can tell by your and their words, whether we agree or not you all are saved.
- - - - - I know that past our differences. Jesus is so good!!!!
