In general, I would encourage you to ask God why He has not clearly spoken, if there is some disobedience in your life or heardness of heart or anything that you are doing or failing to do so that you no longer hear Him as you did.

Dorothy Mae, I did ask, but just casually, not really seeking him concerning it, I will ask in earnest now, and maybe that is why I posted it to begin with, I can see that he orchestrated this now. If he shows me what the reason is and wants me to share it , I will. Thank you for your comment.

I don't want to address anyone in particular but mostly want to address anyone who wants to learn to hear the voice of God to them. Of course now and again God speaks to all his children in more clear ways even the hard of hearing get. Often through others or through the Bible. These are fairly common experiences for all of us. But that still small voice so often described in the Bible is not so common and there are reasons for this.

One is that most Christians are not taught that God speaks that way at all and fewer are taught how to hear His voice. Sometimes we have not because we ask not, not because He has chosen to be silent. It would do well to start with the idea that the fault lies with us, not with His choosing.

This is not a pleasant thought, I know, so I don't address this post to anyone in particular. But if we do not hear the voice of God ever who obviously spoke clearly to those in the Bible, where can the problem lie except with us. Again, it is mostly likely we never heard it was possible and so never asked HIm questions expecting to hear an answer in our spirit directly.

THe answer is to seek Him and ask Him to speak to you in that still small voice and start by asking questions that have simple answers. There are three voices one can hear, one's own, the enemy or the Lord. I silent verbally the first two. I also ask God to searc h me and see if there by any wicked way in me.

It is important to know that God never contradicts his written word. SO check any "word of the Lord" against he written word. It is also important to know that the character of the person will play a very large role in hearing from God. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. It is likely that any person God speaks regularly to (if they want to contine to hear from Him) will not be allowed by Him to to share what He said, to copyright it (freely you have received so freely give might be his requirement when you are to share), or otherwise use that understanding to benefit themselves. If God gives a man words from the throne and that man goes off and benefits personally from that gift, no more gifts are likely to be given. So there is a price to hearing from God. One is obedience to instructions. The others is chosen humility. And the most important is to keep these things in the heart unless given instructions to share which will always be for the benefit of the recepients.

But I will say that the price is worth it. It is the most thrilling thing in the world to know that the living God spoke to you. Words cannot express what this is like. It is well worth the price.

His own build each other up in the faith and do not criticize how He chooses to guide, speak and show us all truth. We know there are "greater works" than Jesus did in our future and we are seeing them now, in this time. John Fenn's ministry produces these little 5 and 10 minute teachings I have found to be a blessing, this isn't the specific one I was looking for and when found I will get it to you, it is relevant to this thread, thank you kindly for sharing the poem he gave you. Blessings -

The Lord spoke to me

All of this was years ago, and he has been silent for a long time, but I believe that is my fault because i have not been faithful to be in his word. Forgive me Lord.
Thank you.
Not everybody can accept such things as being from God. But those of us who know, recognize it when we see it.

I have heard it taught from more than one teacher, if we fall out of active relationship we are to seek why and it will be something He wanted us to do that we missed or didn't do, then we go back and do it He reestablishes vital personal relationship. Bless you sister

Holy Spirit always talk to us when we do something wrong, He tell us to back to His way, this is promised in the Bible, the problem is in us. Most of the time I do thing that I know, it not the will of God, but I did it.
He will lower His voice every time I am not obey Him. If I keep disobey Him, He let problem happen to me to pull me back to Him. I believe this is learning proces to prepare us to be closer to Him

The Lord spoke to me in 1988, not long after I got saved in June, 1985 saying Judgement begins at my house, will you be able to stand? This was before the Jimmy Swaggart and the Jim baker scandel, then one day on my birthday he gave me a beautiful poem titled The One, I wrote it out word for word as he gave it, and had it copywrited, another time he told me he was fixing to bring judgment on a preacher I was setting under at the time, he was doing several things wrong in the church, and apparently not at all sorry for his sins, in about a week he had a stroke, another time i bought a mobile home and had it delivered to our farm, the next door neighbor did not want it there, so he burned it the first night it came, I cried out to the Lord in anguish, He said Your hands are clean, I will recompense, I will deal shrewdly with those who dealt deviously, and I will repay. The man soon had a stroke, and the insurance company that I had just spoken to over the phone, agreed to pay me for the mobile home, not what i had paid but what the home was actually worth, (God is an awesome God) Another time he woke me up in the middle of the night and told me to pray for a certain woman that i knew, I did and went back to sleep, I ran into her a few days later and told her what had happened, the look she gave me spoke volumns, she admitted to being in trouble even though she did not say what,he spoke thru actions when a hail storm came thru, and there was a cover that i could get under to protect my vehicle, and at home the roof was destroyed and two heavy duty plastic chairs, but on the other side of the house the cars rear end was sticking out from under the carport, and was not damaged, I had no insurance on the car, but was covered with the roof, he showed me thru that just how meticulous he can be.
.Another time my late husband walked into our bedroom and over to me and kissed me ever so sweetly on the lips, linguring for several seconds, then it was over and he disappeared, but the sweet spirit remained for several minutes. Another time I was getting ready to go to the bank with my husband to sign a new loan, the Lord strongly impressed upon me to not do this, I told my husband, but he scoffed it off, refusing to not go thru with the loan, it turned out to be the hardest loan we had ever attempted to pay, and before that the same thing happened with a preacher that we were going to sign on for a loan for a church building, but again he refused to listen, and again the loan turned into a nightmare, at one time it seemed as if we were going to loose everything we had worked for due to failure on the pastors part, but God graciously rescued us, just in time.

All of this was years ago, and he has been silent for a long time, but I believe that is my fault because i have not been faithful to be in his word. Forgive me Lord.
Your message had greatly encouraged me to continue believing that our God is an Almighty God, A God of provision and a just yet loving God who always take care of us. Hence, though, I am not yet a registered chatter here but I was compelled to
write something here after reading your message denoting some precious moments on your personal conversation with God to let you know that your testimony had somehow made some connections on my faith toward God. Please continue sharing more wonderful testimony. My name is Nolan Valencia from the Philippines. A retired gov't employee, 63 years old. My wife Luisa is now 56 years old. I had three children of whom two are already married and both are pastors having their own church to minister with. Our youngest daughter is at present connected to YWAM as one among the staff based at Antipolo, Rizal. Presently, I am also ministering a church as a pastor. Looking forward to hearing from you and reading more good testimonies from your end.

Brother lion 222 I have been around the block more then I care to mention!! LOL Every believer has failed in some way.shape or form( Matt 26:56) for just one example! So we are not alone in our faults bro! And Jesus knows them already. NOW!! Why the silence you ask, well I can answer that.( Isaiah 45:15)

It is not that you have been forsaken in any way!! This teaching by the Holy Ghost( 1 John 2:27) to me,I am sharing with you,you can judge as you will, but my hope( Rom 15:13) to you is to do what God has called all of his people to preform!!( Gal 6:1) The Lord will hide from his children from time to time. There are 2 reason that he has made me aware of, as to the reason.

1. Since he is all knowing, he does not wonder after us,he waits for us to realize that he is not a hobby! And I had to find out that waiting upon him( Isaiah 40:28-31) takes discipline, endurance and if we fool around long enough, long suffering as well!!( Rom 2:4)When we come across something which is very impotant to us,we waste no time in digging in and getting what we need to do done! So how important is Jesus really to us??

Well bro, as many have found out including myself,we need to dig in and find out for ourself.( 1 Cor 9:23-27!!) verse 27! 2. From who we are led by as we must learn ( Rom 8:14-15) the Lord also by his silence lets us see how we are maturing ( 2Peter 3:18) and if not why not? Do we care to do something about it??

Or go into the valley of excuses? I have been there bro,not fun! Remember!!( Rom 8:1) So how does the Lord not be mad at us any longer?( Isaiah 54:9-10!!) For who among us brother could ever hear from Jesus at the end thou good and faithful servant enter into you rest, unless Jesus each day only considered this about his people!!( Phil 4:7-9!!!!!) verse 8! Our job brother is to believe his word over our feeling!!( John 6:28-29) believing as you know is an action, not a feeling. So cheer up pick yourself up,dust yourself off and move forward!!( Exodus 14:13-14) Blessing bro!
