Sometimes giving up is less to do with depression but more about sanity because it's the constant torment of having to try to be happy every day that makes u lose ur mind in the end
 
Oh definitely is often easier to give up. Its just that its not healthy - and not just for you but for everyone connected to you.

Doesn't this make for more of a parallel than a contrast?

I know. But sometimes it seems like it doesnt really matter anymore
 
No one is happy every day - that's an impossible ask. Content yes, happy no. The world makes it impossible for a Christian to always be happy, the enemy works against it. Strive for contentment with what you are and what you have, you have Jesus - that's enough for anyone.
