Yes, bad advice on a grander scale. However, they can only fool us once, and as the saying goes, that's their bad (or, more accurately, shame on them...). So, the next time anyone prompts us to fear, employ clear thinking (because fear is used to obfuscate sound thinking, they better to manipulate you to do one's will, my dear).
